Been there nights when I've been treated to a steady parade of pleasant hotties, and other times when I'm almost ready to leave before finishing my first beer. Across the street is Georgie's Girls.- went once, and saw two large girls and one over-the-hill crackhead who came on real strong.- annoying. Down the street on the same side of the road is XTC.- half dancer bar, and then there's a door fee that gets you into the nude side; been there a few times and haven't liked it. Around the corner, on Tallmadge Ave, is Club 1245.- same owner as Jen's, and same hit or miss vibe. Right across the street is a sorta new place, Late Night.- haven't been there.
Trick seems to be to visit semi-regularly, on different nights. Like I said.- hit or miss.
AKRON, Ohio -- A 14-year-old was arrested after she was discovered dancing in a bar.
The teen was arrested along with four other topless dancers at the Playhouse.
Officials executed a search warrant Friday as part of Operation Spring Cleaning.
The owner and the bar manager of Ravenna, were also arrested.
They were charged with illegal use of minor in nudity-oriented performance and two counts of child endangering.
this **** dancer story is pretty appalling. you would think the club managers would check ids to cover their own asses, if for no better reason.
In addition to the 14yr old, the article in the ABJ said the bar had previously been cited for having a 17yr old dancing. All within the last month or two. I can almost see making a mistake once, but twice....

the owner of the playhouse is a very good guy and none of this was intentional at all on his part. i am sure though that the little 14 year old that was obviously not home with her mother is not so good. if they want to put someone in jail it should be the mother of this little *****! as i type this reply i would bet she is going down on someone right now!
this is no different than the convienent store that sells beer to someone **** who uses a fake id.
maybe tax dollars should pay for id checking machines for all adult establishments?
there are much much worse places in akron and nobody seems to care, like jens (whorehouse) den! walk out of that place without a hj or even cbj and you can only be gay because it is that easy!

Charge Filed In Exotic Dancer's Attack

A criminal charge has now been slapped against an Akron exotic dancer who allegedly used a stiletto to attack a co-worker last month.
Chetania Davis, 22, faces one count of felonious assault for the April 18 incident at Club 1245 on East Tallmadge Avenue.
The victim, a 52-year-old Akron woman, told police she was hit in the head several times by the woman with the stiletto when she walked into the dressing room.
Akron police say a friend transported the victim to the hospital where she got multiple staples in her head.
It was her first day on the job.

If you would read back a little bit on here you would see that I recommended the Playhouse to people, and it's not like I was totally blasting the place. So "keep your big pie hole shut" might be a little harsh?
For what it's worth, you do bring up some interesting points though. If the girls presented a fake ID at the time of hire and the bar manager copied it or transcribed ID #'s maybe they will be ok.
Hard thing is - once the city is out to get a place it's tough. They could probably raid any strip club at any point in the day and find some questionable stuff.

Apparently they raided the Late Night. See today's ABJ.
I was there, it was around 12:30. 3 police cars pulled up, Roy, the owner, was kicking three guys out of the bathroom at the time. I have never seen people scramble as fast as many of the dancers ran for the bathroom or dressing room. I left immediately out of the back door.

He's off his rocker, but he always buys me a shot on the rare occasion I drop in. Late Night was never the same as Belmont. Last summer I did have one gal there decide to cut work early with me for some take out, but sadly I never saw her there again and didn't have the brains to get a number. Another real nice gal there worked for a local tree trimming company and she was really hot. Other than that, it reminded me a lot of the old Belmont stable. Haven't been in for about 6 months.
