Looking for a recommendation on what 'pay as you go' phone is good. Did a little research on line and went to Kmart and got all confused by all the choices and lack of help. Looking for a touch screen with a year at a time contract. I don't want to have to reload the thing every month.
Any of you fellow mongers have some good tips?

As far as when the pic was taken, if you're using windows PC with Win 7 OS, you can right click on the image and then select properties. Then, click on the details tab. When you scroll down, you'll see Origin and Date taken info on when the pic was taken. But, it depends whether the person who took the picture with his / her camera was able to save / record the EXIF data to display the info. So, you may not see any info on Date taken. As far as where the pic was taken, that I don't know.

Its the cheapest way to go. For data, use tw cable or hi tell hot spot or any place that has free wifi like starbucks and mcds. Buy an un locked T mobile smart phone and transfer the sim card from a T mobile flip phone into the smart phone and it should work, when not in use put it on airplane mode to save the battery.

The good thing about T-Mobile is that when the 1 year date is about to expire, you just need to refill it with a cheap $10 card and it will extend it for another year. The unused minutes will roll over. Better to buy the $100 amount refill to automatically get the 1 year plus be a Gold Member and get the additional 15% more minutes. As far as smartphone, depends how much you're willing to spend on it.

Reload and minutes roll-over. My carrier is AT&T. I'm using a Nokia Go Smartphone. Purchased at Wal-Mart for $69. Little cheaper at Amazon. Great for me, because I don't do a lot of calling or texting. Hope this helps. Every Smart phone is not a Go phone.

Most newer Smartphones use micro sim which is smaller than the old sim. So, the sim card from the flip phone won't fit in the micro sim slot of the smartphone.

I suggest the big Asian guy at the Keeaumoku store, he's helpful and cool. Avoid the short fat Asian lady she is rude, also the skinny young dark kid; I almost yelled at him as to WTF and you gotta push my buttons for that.

Don't get the Verizon one. Even they couldn't get it started.

Good thing about getting a T-Mobile or AT&T smartphone with a micro sim is when it's unlocked, you can use it in foreign countries since most foreign countries use GSM network. Plus, an unlocked T-Mobile phone will accept an AT&T sim card.

This is just my two cents here but, from what I've done in the past with a unlocked t-mobile phone or vice versa (at & t) is that the traditional sim card can be cut like a micro sim, some place don't really do this because either they don't got the cutter or want to sell you a new sim card claiming that if the traditional card is cut it won't work but, I've have seen it done.

Aloha CG.[/QUOTE]Yes. You are right. You can take a micro sim and place it over the larger sim, line it up as close as possible, outline it with a pen or pencil and then cut it.
I wish they do what other countries do with their sim cards. It's already outlined and precut where if you want to use it in a smartphone, you just need to break it off. No need for any cutting. This way, you can put it back and use it again in the fliphone.
