I am wondering what people's experience has been w / girls who provide kik handles. I don't have kik on my phone. My regular phone, it seems too risky, my burner is new and I am still deciding. I'll echo some of JL's experiences. I've used kik with ladies from SA and Whisper and they were real. I also have encountered tons of scammers sending you to kik from Tinder and Craigslist. On Tinder over half of the profiles list a kik address. You respond to that address and the "girl" will get you into conversation and after a few hot messages will try and send you to a "verification" site. "She'll" say it's free, but they want your credit card number, LOL. Also, not sure if you'd classify it as a scam, but lots of girls just wanting to sell pics use it as well. They're pretty obvious on Tinder. Once you see a bunch of profiles with a hot girl and very similar or exact language sending you to kik, you get the idea. I simply swipe left on those.

I read recently that Snapchat is the #1 messaging app of the young crowd, and I do use that. The posts that I see using kik are indeed on CL, so I will definitely avoid those. Snapchat also has the feature that stuff goes away nearly instantly. I only have it on my burner.

Here's a trick. If you get a girl's #, put it in your phone contacts, then use SC to search them. Often, they will have a SC profile, and you can get more info about them, including their real name. I don't recommend friending them this way, it makes you look like a stalker. You can suggest connecting via SC through other messages, though. I had a very young, ex-islamic, very submissive girl who would only contact me that way (other than) - I think she feared monitoring by her family.
