LE behaving badly...........continued
Kenbenz..............Neither Phila Police or the Transit Police have ANY authority to order you to order someone out of your car simply because she is a known SW. Can the cops prove she is not a long time friend who you are giving a ride to? NO. Can they prove she simply just asked you to give her a ride? NO. Can they prove anything? NO. It is simply a scare tactic and the cops know most people will do what they say in the hope they can just leave without a citation/arrest. The only exception to this that I am aware of is if you are on probation/parole and one of the conditions of your release was that you don`t associate with known criminals and avoid all criminal activity. If it is a crime to give a SW or anyone else with a criminal past a ride, that would mean that Septa is also guilty of committing a crime everytime someone with a criminal past uses their service. This would include cabs also. It`s a catch-22 situation. If the cops tell you to do something, you should do it or else you can be arrested for disobeying a police officer. BUT, you should also ask what law you have broken. They know damn well they can`t arrest you for simply giving someone a ride. They will eventually let you go, but before you leave, make sure you get his name and or badge number and then report him to someone at the roundhouse. Don`t go to his immediate district supervisor because the only thing that will happen is the supervisor will tell the cop someone complained and he will tell the cop to "just be careful". By doing this, they keep the brass at HQ from getting involved.
LE need to tackle real crime

LE needs to tackle real crime in that damn city. Stopping Johns and harassing them is not making anyone in that city safer. Every other day in that city someone is murdered. Why in the hell should LE be worried about some John getting FS, BBBJ, or DATY? Instead they rather go after soft criminals like Johns, rather than go after gang bangers who would put up a fight.
Knowledge is the best defense....

Oh gee! More "common" knowledge! Now not picking on Speedracer per se, but it is frustrating to see those who could use the facts but don't have them.
Come on guys, if you are going to play the game, take the 30-minutes it takes to watch this video and learn about your rights! Does it make sense to spend more time looking at the pictures here and passing off "anecdotal" advice on how to hand encounters with Law Enforcement, than learning some highly effective things you can say or do during a traffic stop? Doesn't it make sense if one is engaged in the hobby to spend some time to understand your rights and learn new behaviors?
There is no way the cops are going to toss your car without your consent and without probable cause, and if they do an illegal search whatever is found should be tossed. Look, the poster who stated his car was tossed because the officer claimed he smelled an odor of an illegal substance perhaps could avoid such claim, or at the very least bolster his defense, by using techniques in the video.
But the point is you need to know the facts and how to handle these encounters.
Just makes sense that one should spend the time to get an education:

Apologies to those who remember me posting this previously on another thread #2268.
Friday Night Sting Operation
Thought something looked suspicious as two cute hispanic girls were staying
under the bridge at Lehigh seemingly working just a little too hard. Most
cars were staying clear (smart) but others did fall victim.
I went across Lehigh, got a cheesesteak (should have been popcorn) and
watched the show. First car, totally idiot. Stopped almost at a 45 degree
angle to talk to the one girl. Zappo !! Three unmarked cars surrounded him in
an instant. This happenned about 10 times from 9-11pm last night and
all went down the same.
This is what was interesting and informative. The two girls were both dressed
alike in white puffy jackets and jeans. The difference was one had a blue
scarf and the other a red hat. Once the girl in the scarf (I think she was
the one with the wire) talked to a guy, the undercover swarmed in, the
two girls ran to a parked sivler mini van with tinted windows parked across
from the bicycle shop. Next the john was immediately taken from his car
and one of the officers drove the johns car. From proposition to a clean
scene was less then 2 minutes. So most driving around never got to even
see this.
Now finished my cheesesteak and about 10:15 I wanted to see were they
were going with the car and john. Well they headed to the public lot
at Clearfield and Jasper, which I guess is where they were doing the
actual arrest. Knowing that I went back to see if the girl came back
out yet again and they did twice more till about 11pm.
So, keep your eyes open...the stings are back
