Took a spin and noted there are now numerous cameras high up on light posts on several intersections along Figueroa. 102nd west side, 103rd east side 104th east side (at the light) and west side, 106th east side and west side, 110th west side and 111th place west side. Excuse any errors I am doing this by memory. I will try to get some photos and post them.

Years ago it used to be more active down there. But usually stragglers, UTRs, Independents and mostly Black chics. Going north from there sometimes some LSWs.

Once you go south of century this urban ennui sets in and you can sense the level of despair as los angeles turns into compton. I think I successfully mongered there once and it was some kind of LE baseball night because the main track from gage (62) to century (100) was empty as fuck.

Well gents, I finally fell into the trap of sending a deposit and getting ghosted. And yes I've read all the posts about not sending one, but it wasn't all that much so no skin off my back. (she'll need it more than I) I got her number and was hoping to get her to my place to which she agreed, but I guess she had a different idea. Was around the area and decided to get some street food for breakfast. Most of Fig was hot with LEO parked a few blocks away from the small group of girls that were there. Saw a few people getting pulled over. Had LEO trail me and begin to trail and pull someone over for briefly slowing down to take a look (no stopping, just slowing down). A few obvious undercover who had way too many clothes on. Stay safe. I know ill avoid the area for the near future. This was around 5 am to 11 am. Not sure what people are seeing at night.

When the FBI gets involved and teams up with the police, you know it's time to go elsewhere. The risk is no longer worth the reward. One of the main reasons the FBI got involved was due to them finding gangs and pimps trafficking illegal aged girls. If you get caught with one of those girls, you're probably going to want to jump off a bridge than face the legal consequences coming your way. If you make it out of prison, good luck at finding a job that doesn't have to do with mopping the floor or cleaning toilets.

Stay calm but avoid the area while this happens. Even if you are doing nothing wrong, it is a nuisance and there is harassment. To give a different example, long ago there were crackdowns on drunken driving and cops would pull everyone over and accuse them of driving drunk. Me and my friend hadn't had a single drink in years but were pulled over and questioned as if we had just come from a bar (the area is full of bars). They had to give up since our answers were perfectly consistent and honest that we don't even drink at all. We were politely annoyed rather than scared. They are looking for easy targets clearly. It is a quite a bluff for the police to insist we had just come from a bar and were drunk - but they insisted that repeatedly until they realized we didn't. We were very polite and explained our philosophy on how drinking was a waste of youth and money. That illustrates their mentality, they want to question people on the slightest suspicion of "being in the wrong place" even though they actually have nothing on you. So stay calm and carry on.
Along different lines, there are and will be very random ICE checks for a while. Citizens, green card holders, and valid visa holders have nothing to worry about. But again, it is nuisance and harassment. They will detain Native Americans and certain brown people, or try to talk their way into places without a warrant (you can just ignore them and they will eventually leave), and so on. Again, they are looking for easy prey most people can just stay calm and move on.
I will use this set of examples in Queens New York recently:

This is nothing to panic about, it's normal and temporary. It is not really effective either, the US for sure has a lot of undocumented immigrants but they are only getting 1% with random checks like this. They end up harassing plenty of innocent people. What is more effective are border controls at the borders and airports.
To give an example of how it can play out, I dated a girl who was a legit student with a student visa. She drove along the border with friends and so of course got stopped by a checkpoint and asked her legal status. She did not carry her passport and visa of course, so she then had to drive back with ICE to her home just to get her passport to show it to them. Whereas citizens don't have to prove anything, their word alone is enough. I've answered the question over a dozen times and that was always the end of it. I know it's weird but it is also a crime to lie so don't lie. They generally don't are about green card holders either but technically can harass them (but in my experience they never do). In practice, police never care about this stuff at all. Police have a clear goal and objective, while ICE will rely on "check everyone randomly" behavior which is weird but their MO.
What we see is a wild mix of motivations and agencies. Best to stay out of it and not panic.
