I generally go by that rule, too. But sometimes I break it. I don't mind calling someone who has a good reputation in another town and is on tour -- though often that sort of person is out of my price range. I'll also make an exception for someone who seems to have been here a while, despite the out-of-town area code. With cell phones, area codes don't mean as much as they used to. Someone could live in Lexington ten years and still have a cell number from her old home town.

The problem is many of the girls use a service like Google Voice instead of getting a second burner phone. It hides their real number and works extremely good. I've even used Google Voice for my hobby activities.

Voice is reliable, gives you the ability to screen calls and also works with text. But you can't get a Lexington number. At least the last time I checked. So a girl in Lexington using Voice may not have a Lexington or even Kentucky number. You just can't count on that anymore.

I prefer the picture test. If the pictures do not turn up on TinEye or Google I feel a bit more comfortable with it. But I really prefer a reliable review for a girl. We do get a few here on USG.
