I cannot fault any lady for running her business the way it works for her. I do get to choose, though, and I do choose to enjoy those first of the month when the rent is due specials. Now, that said, it also means on that day I am not seeing someone else who didn't run the special.

I opened the newspaper and look what I see, ABC is running a special on my favorite wine. So, I will buy the wine from ABC and not the cute little wine shop around the corner. Of course, if that cute little wine shop advertised that they would accept all coupons then they would get my business because I do like them more.

Run your business anyway you want. Don't criticize others for running it the way they choose.

I would like to think this is a healthy discussion and not a debate. We are hearing lots of opinions from all sides.

I would wish I understood more clearly how SP's decide on their suggested donation. What I have come to realize is this is a very complex issue. I would think a lady will ask as much as she can. I would think a gentleman wants to donate as little as he can get away with. Then you have to put service, expectation and delivery in the mix. Then, there is the beauty factor. Also, attitude on the part of both is important.

Just one man's take on it.

That being said, I was aiming for a discussion; a debate would've been more entertaining.

Adding to the discussion and without being too explicit: There's only so many ways you can perform before someone picks it up or someone instructs another person to do it. That's why I find it extremely surprising that prices haven't dropped too much, especially since there's (what appears to be, in my opinion), / more / people running ads in general. Someone made a point (I'm too lazy to reference / quote it) that with the new law, it'll be more difficult. . . . . True, but that still hasn't stopped people from posting ads.

Anything that's "illegal" will *ALWAYS* have someone, somewhere willing to do it or sell it. Why? Money. If white collar bank CEOs can get away with it, others will surely follow in their footsteps until *EVERYONE* is caught. Since that's not going to happen (same with the hobby) they'll do it, but in varying amounts (depending on the person and how risk-adverse they are). Some might even think, "Hey, let's work together and raise prices!" or "Hey, I'll post XYZ reviews and you give me freebies!" That might work in the short term, but then someone breaks rank or finds out. Shit never ends well. Happens time and time again.

Last discussion point: One of the things I've learned is stand up comedians keep it 100. It's mostly (if not, all) true. Louis explains it best: [URL]https://youtu.be/85bfDKudxV4[/URL].

Now, before I have white knights after me or everyone else thinking I'm scum of the earth, etc (if it's not too late) - I want to mention that I will tip *after* the fact. If it is deserved. I have tried pretipping and over the years it's. . . Probably 6 out of 10 times it's no good. Sometimes if you don't haggle and just MEET the provider at their pricing, they don't hold up their end of the bargain. While mostly BP and Clist, it does happen from time to time with verified providers here, too (NO NAMES). I have noticed the trend that if those providers book clients back to back to back, that's when they rush. No bueno, ladies. No bueno. (Besides the "ick" factor, of course. If I were to do something like that, I'd try to take a shower at the very least!

But I digress. That's just personal experiences plus bad luck of the draw on BP and Clist.

Going back to the discussion, I'm just surprised pricing hasn't dropped due to more providers coming in, that's my main point. My only question, really. Why?

Anyways, don't mind me. I'm just a person that has a lot of time on their hands and thinks about everything a bit more than most people. Sociology and numbers are interests of mine.

This may answer some questions in reference to specials vs. Lowering prices, a quick basic summary on why, that even the most mentally challenged could understand. It is simple, and in all businesses running a specials with limited time offer is completely different than lowering prices permanently. That is why they are "specials".

Business models are often personalized and what may work for one may not for others. That is why the hobby is great, so many options and to each their own. Obviously the popular successful providers have found what business model works for them. Do I question theirs? In no way, I am just happy that they are successful. It gives me solid providers to refer my regulars to when they want something different.
