I don't necessarily think you did something wrong, I think it's her way of being safe. If she doesn't give a dollar amount over the phone, then LE can't bust her for solicitation. She probably expects people to do some sort of research.

Interesting that they say the investigations were over the last two months. The law hasn't been in effect for two months! That means they were "investigating" legal activity.
