Re: Keeping the dream alive
Been around the Cape and NFM. Wish I something better to report then seeing nothing but LEO out. This city sucks.
I would suggest crossing the mid point bridge into Ft Myers where you will be less then a mile from some of the best areas in town, you might also consider crossing the Cape Coral bridge and checking out the Pine Manor area. You can also avoid the return toll by crossing the 41 bridge and checking out NFM areas before returning to the Cape via Pine Island Road. Good Luck
Tips for Visiting Unfamiliar Areas & Getting Ahead on the Forums
My friend is out of town and visiting SW's in Orlando. Given that in some ways he's admittedly still a noob, he's still learning how to work the forums and work the streets.
What he's learning is that when you're out of town, if you're going to a metro area, you probably don't need to be puzzled and ask the area's forum members where to go locally. Just read the latest posts for that particular area's forum, and you'll cull enough info to figure out where the good spots are. It took only a few minutes of reading today, and he knew right where to go even though he doesn't know the Orlando area hardly at all. On-line map services are your friend to match what you read on forums to the actual places to go.
Granted, probably not every area's forum is going to be terrific with helping you figure out where to go, but I still recommend taking some time to familiarize yourself with the way of things locally first through the latest posts. You'll get ideas how hot under the collar your uncle has been lately, how much expected donations are (these can certainly vary from region to region) , and more. Knowledge is power.
This advice certainly applies to where you live, as well. Read your hometown forum, and unless you're looking for a specific SW's digits, you should do pretty well without asking anyone much of anything. My friend has felt like a dipshit a couple times because if he'd only read through some posts first, he would have gotten the answers to questions he had much sooner and much easier.
Secondly, if you're senior, or if you've at least done your share of TOFTT's and have provided enough verifiable evidence of your endeavors through your posts, you'll get responses about good places to go and good girls to call from other mongers even in the unfamiliar territory. Well, I'm unsure if you'd categorize them as "good" girls, but we all like bad girls who are good at what they do.
Regardless, if all you're looking for is an area to cruise, it may be unnecessary to ask the group where to go. Sure, you'll read posts that tell of areas that only locals will understand where the fuck those areas are, but you should typically also be able to find enough street, store, or other references that are useful.
For newbies newer than my friend, I can't stress enough that we all need you to TOFTT again and again, and then please report. Sharing good intel is about the only way you're going to earn respect here. Just saying that LEO was out tonight or that you might have seen an SW on a particular street or in a particular area doesn't typically qualify as good intel.
In your posts of your conquests, be vague enough yet detailed enough that we can read between the lines. Being vague helps protect the girls and yourself, and being detailed helps us determine if you're legit or just full of shit. When your posts or PM's consist of asking for details, but you've not really provided intel that's helpful to the team, you probably won't get much in the way of responses.
I know it can be scarier than shit to TOFTT when you're just getting started, but doing so is part of your initiation, so you've got to own it. Once you've busted your cherry and gotten into the swing of things by providing good reports, you'll find that team members will be more helpful.
I'm sorry if I'm offending anyone. I think everyone pretty much understands I'm not here to offend anyone and that I'm just trying to help. I don't think I'm better than anyone, and I don't much give two shits about anyone who gets high and mighty toward me on this forum. With that said, don't let what I or anyone else says to you get under your skin. Fuck it.
By the way, pickings are a helluva lot better in Orlando than in FM. I guess that's to be expected. Performances thus far haven't been fabulous, though.
