About 7:00 am on September 4 I was driving south on Cicero heading to Midway (to catch a plane). Just north of 47th I spotted a WSW walking north on Cicero. About 5'6 or so. Brownish or dirty blonde hair about shoulder length. Average build--from the distance I saw her I would say B or C cup. Wearing some type of cropped top under a jacket (it was raining) and jeans. First, they can ask you a bunch of questions that you won't be able to answer. What's her name? Why did you pick up a woman in "this neighborhood" if you don't know her name? Does your wife/girlfriend/significant other know that you picked up this girl? Have you had anything to drink tonight? Are you on any medications (that might interfere with your driving)? Do you mind if I/we search your car? Do you own any firearms (are they in your car)? Do you know that you ran that last light/stop sign? Your chance to complain about lack of probable cause to stop your car comes far later in the process (if ever).

Second, there is a good chance SHE is carrying drugs or paraphernalia--or worse that she WAS carrying stuff and dropped it under your seat when you got pulled over. They can charge everyone with possession and let the states attorney or the court sort it out later. Better still, when she drops the stuff under your seat, they can pull it out and ask you how drugs and paraphernalia got in YOUR car.

Third, they can charge you with obstruction of justice when you lie to them about who she is, and why you picked her up. When her story doesn't match your story that means at least one of you is lying. Again, charge you both with obstruction, let the states attorney sort it out later.

I don't know what they actually can or can't do--or what they actually do--I just know that I watch too much television and have a vivid imagination.

There must be something wit the name Jennifer. It seems to have a strong association with sw's on some drug or another. This Jennifer I met is usually hanging around Cermak and Wentworth. I live in the West Loop on Madison. Although the neighborhood is considered upscale etc. but Anything West of Ashland is still a questionable area. Suprisingly not alot of LE presence from Ashland east to Halsted. the yare concentrated more on Roosevelt. I know EXACTLY who you are talking about! In all actuality I knew this girl back when she used to work at a Denny's restaurant off of 95th/294. She was a server there. She always seemed nice too.
