I was at my s. O. 's company gathering a few years ago. She had two coworkers (female) who were hanging out with us the whole evening. Anyways, saw my ortho surgeon regarding my back; I bring up the YouTube Videos regarding how the epidural and cortisone shots are NOT FDA approved; he tells me: "very uncommon, very uncommon. I would never paralyze you. But, I'll just prescribe you PREDNISONE from now on. ".

WTF?! Oh ok. So only when *I* say something, then you going to do something else? Unreal! By the time I seen him, my back was already like 95% better. But based on some suggestions and encouragement (from some of you guys as well) I said F it, pay the $20 copay and just see what he got to say. And never once- did he suggest the dreaded "S" word. Strange. No surgery? Fine by me, doc.

Feeling like mongering tonight. Got an itch, but now I got to read the whole forum to see who's the FOTM. LOL!!

It is good to hear you are up and mobile. I've been through back injuries and it can really keep you down.

Here are some of the exercises my PT gave me. It helps put the disc back and stops nerve pinches. Print and show your doctor, to get it approved. It helps me in the mornings, when I wake up with a sore back.

If you ever take prednisone, be sure to exercise or watch your food intake. This drug will make you want to eat. I took it for broken blood vessel in my eye and gained almost 20 pounds in three weeks. Doc said to eat carrots and celery. Geez, I'm not a rabbit (may fuck like one) but still not. I'm so sorry to hear about your back. I recently suffered a very painful foot injury that had me on crutches for a little over a month and my physician had me on Prednisone as well. It really helped with the pain and inflammation.

A friend of mine sent me this article when I told him that was taking Prednisone and I thought it was really good information. My.

Doc didn't tell me about some of the side effects mentioned in the article so it prompted me to do further research on the side.

Effects of this medication. After reading many different articles I was able have a more intelligent and informed conversation with.

You can feel the stretch in your butt. The standing hamstring stretch is good to because it stretches the long sciatica nerve that runs down from the lower back, glutes, hamstrings and down to your calves.
