Yea, I know I'm Mr. Gloom
Think it is time for a new thread to help us scout for those Condos? If they are UTR, they may be hard to find
I haven't found the condos, unless Twin Flowers or whatever they are calling themselves now count.
I haven't been back there and am skeptical of the wisdom of the condos. In the past when other services were operating embedded in a residential community, they were shut down pretty quickly, and LE was pretty vindictive about it when they did. I have no inside knowledge, but I'm pretty sure the longevity of the AMPs has a lot to do with the out of the way micro-strip mall or industrial district they generally have had for location. [I suppose the condos might adopt a floating policy, but that makes time and travel management hard on everyone. ]
I also predict that as the condos become more well known, perhaps by having a thread dedicated to them, the quality will deteriorate. Because that is pretty much what happened to the AMPs. Twenty plus years ago there were plenty of places were you got excellent massage, and a full menu, and pampered afterwards. It was a great experience.
As the internet became a factor, good things happened in the sense that the variables became more transparent, you knew which places were being cautious and had curtailed their menu, you knew which places wanted to be purely 'legit'. But it also means that more people discovered that such places existed. I knew that Lily's existed for ten plus years before my first visit, I assumed it was 100% legit because I couldn't believe that LE allowed such a place to exist. I learned of AMPs through the ads in out-of-town printed papers, and took a chance on the local places. Expecting disappointment. It wasn't the amazing experience the NYC paper reported, but it was enough.
But as the internet spread, between usenet, then Decadent City. Etc. Everyone even a little curious knew where, when and the 'secret codes' needed to get past the gatekeepers. And the places became busy, then downright crowded. And then the secret became so 'open' it turned into a regular feature for newspapers and TV news during sweeps week, and at this point in time I doubt there is anyone who doesn't know about AMPs and 'happy endings'.
Which means everyone goes there. The guys that treat the girls shabby. The guys that are cheap and expect the old AMP service standard for street girl prices. The guys that will complian to the police if they feel they were 'cheated'. The rubes that walk in the front door and ask in voice so loud you can hear back in the shower "Is this the place were I can get laid for a hunnred bucks?" (true story).
There were always a few bad apples, and I don't think there are more of them percentage-wise. But there are so many more people using the AMPs the traffic can't be ignored. So much traffic the girls are exhausted, and even the conscientious ones striving to do a good job, just can't maintain standards.
The UTR nature of the condos is probably why they are a better experience. Creating a thread to talk about them 'because they are a better option than the AMPs' seems likely to be self defeating.
