Burner is a very good idea indeed.
I had been using my personal phone (bad idea). But it's normally normally locked (though text messages can show up right on the locked screen).
For my personal phone. I use an iPhone. Now don't bother telling me how much more awesome your Android phone is. Goody for you ok?
Funny thing about Apple's iMessage (combined text message and web instant message client). Even if you don't use "the cloud" to sync your devices. If you use the same Apple ID for iPhone and say, your iPad messages are automatically synced between devices regardless. You can start a "conversation" on one device and finish it on the other. How convenient.
Now say you get your SO an iPad and use the same Apple-ID for online purchases. You have to be very careful, or your conversions are automatically synced onto all of "your" (by Apple-I'd) devices. O_O! Fortunately I prefer very discrete providers and I'm very discrete in my messages as well.
You can purchase a t mobile phone at Walmart for cash and pay each month by cash, credit or debit card. You could buy a pre-loaded debit card for cash. Totally untraceable. Get one. As I indicated in a previous post, all the guys who claim they can't afford a "burn phone" for their hobby are fooling no one but themselves.
I have had a number of providers send me unsolicited text messages looking for an appt. Doesn't matter since they go to my burn phone that is password locked.
Any info on either of these 2?
No pics on google.
