Made an appointment the other day at Serenity and was asked for my phone number. I asked why and she says so they can contact you if you are not on time. OK, makes some sense but not sure how many would be on time if you gave number or not. So I show up 5 minutes early and still had to wait 15 minutes in a room because it was busy. Not a big deal except I had an appointment. Front door bell going "Ding Dong, "Ding Dong" entire time. Mongers in and out or trying to be walk ins. So massage starts and goes well, Selina then near the end says "do you mind if I finish now?" With 10 minutes to go. I ask why and she says "because another customer waiting for me, but you don't have to" I say no, I want the full hour please! She sas "we ask because if you let me I can go but if you don't want to I will finish the full time. Sometimes I get in trouble for going too slow". I say too slow? An hour is an hour, how can it be fast or slow? Of course she means she's pressured to cut people short to have more business.
She says "last customer before you I ask him and he left early no problem. We ask and if customer doesn't want to, we keep going for the full time. ".
Then I say well, I had an appointment, I have already paid, this other person is just a walk in. Make them wait or tell them to come back later! You're already busy with a customer. Then she says "well we don't want to make customer mad because then we won't get a good tip" No shit Sherlock! And what kind of tip do you think you will get from me now? I ask her. They don't seem to realize that having good paying return customers is more valuable than just trying to rush everyone in and out.
I still gave her a tip because she did spend most of the hour but the last 15 minutes sucked and the constant "Ding Dong" and the other lady telling her in Chinese "when you going to finish?" etc. No bueno.
They probably should not take reservations if they are not going to honor them. Just take walk ins only. Maybe I just caught them at a very busy time but this was mid day during the week so not sure. Too much publicity ruining a good spot. I won't go back if it stays like that. There are other choices without having to be standing in line. Just my. 02.
