I am personally tired of the merry-go-round of bars, bar names, bar girls and mamas. Since you really can't create a new bar from the ground up due to Liquor Commish and limited number or permits/licenses I propose this:
One of the Mama's (the one with the most $ or biggest investors) should take over the biggest and best spot. Then go around and pick up the best few girls from each of the existing bars. Pay them more or give them a higher split. Create an all-star team if you will. Make them the New York Yankees of KBs. Yeah the Steinbrenners pay more money than the cellar dwellers. However they have more championships and more bottom line $$$ at the end of the day. You gotta spend $ to make $. It will only get bigger and better. People want to go see the Yankees play. The Pirates, Orioles and Royals are train wrecks and you can't pay people to watch them play.
This is a win-win-win-win situation:
1. Win for the Mama who will rake in big bucks.
2. Win for the girls working there.
3. Win as there will an all star line-up in one place at one time. No more wasted gas, time and money bar hopping.
4. Win because the 2nd tier KBs/KBGs (the minor league scrubs) will be desperate and will play for less and try hard as they will have hopes of making it to the big leagues one day.
Just a thought. One can dream, yeah?
There's only 2 mamas with that kind of money: Patty and Betty.
-
Nice dreams. However, the bad juju and greed of a KBG is so strong that it would be impossible for them to coexist. Additionally, they are destructive, crude, and insensitive egomaniacs who eventually destroy themselves.
LOL. I coundnt have said it any better.
I just heard that new Business (on Keeaumoku, formerly Crystal palace strip club) is going to start having strippers. One KbG told me that there only going to have them on weekends and another one told me you have to buy champagne to get into the private rooms. No private dancing rooms like the old crystal palace. I doubt it will work out because the KBGs are going to be hating on the dancers for stealing customers. Plus, music will be too loud for the KBGs.
Does anyone know if business also controls the ssecond floor? Crystal palace used it for bachelor parties. Makes more sense for business to put the dancing up there instead of mixing with the KBGs on the main floor.

Is that local Betty? And what about Maya and Jun mamas? Are there any vb mamas that would qualify?
There's only 2 mamas with that kind of money: Patty and Betty.
Good Times in Kalihi
Saw the new name/sign on the old bar in Kalihi down by Kools. Looks like an opening with new owners. Didn't go in as it was 4pm and that's a bit early for me. Any 411 on the place? If not, I'll probably check it out on Friday night and report back, unless, I get side-tracked at some AMP.

Yes, that is local Betty. She may dress in her frumpy muumuus, but that lady has a lot of real estate holdings.

Yankees bar

Ppv
Hmmm true there are some good guys and some good KBG. I think the bars have a catch 22 They have to pay for the PPV To get customer to come in. If not then the customer will not come in. Right now its so slow they have to pay for it even if they don't want. Right now the ball is in ours favor before all these years it was always in the Korean bar favor.
Oceanic had a special for the first two UH road games for the month of Aug. I think it was $4.95 for each game if you ordered before Aug 31. If anyone is interested, they should call Oceanic to confirm.

That is a strange mix as KB customers aren't really the SC customers. I think for the most part, the older customers with money won't be going to Business once it starts to morph into a SC. I guess Mimi has to try and keep the bar afloat for her Korean investors, but it may backfire on her. The SC customers are on the younger side, 20s/30s and while they do spend money tipping the girls, I don't think they can compare to the older customers and what they spend popping bottles.

I agree. I've never seen a rowdy crowd in a Kapiolani KB. On a good night at SP3, for example, there is a variety of mokes, guys who look like they just got out of the joint, and other ruffians.
I'd be interested to check out this place after 8/20.

Camelots
Let's see here, Yujin is back at Camels again. Yeah, the same Yujin who drives the Lexus IS250. There is also a new chick who just started working this week. She looks good. She seems to be a local chick. Meh, I don't care for the local ones myself. It seems like Coco is no longer at Camelot. It's been a while since I seen her. I know some peeps on here don't go Camelots but, it's nice to just hang out and look at the eye candy though.

Don't forget that Yujin looks like she put on some weight, too.

I can't see a lot of the hostess girls converting to stripping. So I'm guessing the strippers will be different employees. If all goes to hell, I am also guessing a lot of the current employess will be playing musical bars again.

Old Asia is now called Pharoahs. Sign change will be done this week. Cindy is the mama there. The place is open, new carpets and lighting. They must have done lots of work to get rid of the cig smell, LOL. No smoking allowed for those interested. Many of the girls are regulars from other bars (casino, etc.).
Not sure how eye candi/business will be, license still strip club status. I think everyone knows the clientele will change if it's a strip club, older customers won't visit, kb girls will move on and the crowd will be more of a younger type, high testosterone. Mimi is doing it because the place was dying and not long from closing, she tried the naked sushi to try to bring in customers, had go go dancers another time. It should be good for strip club lovers, another club to visit. We'll have to see but it will be a different club from a kb that's for sure.
