Some good advice, some not so much, some wishful thinking
Ok, so I come from bigger markets, and I have to say for a small city like GR.
But I'm about to rant. Please go over this with anyone you see that this may apply to.
But I'm just astounded by the lack of common sense by these girls. I've been able to trace 3-4 just the other night by researching the phone number.
They are linked to their Facebook accounts!! I was enraged when I saw girls a massage place link to their Facebook page and publicly showing pictures of large amounts of cash and hanging out with the owner her self. You know who this is. Right there in the photos. Publicly on facebook. Good God! Not only did I trace to their real name I was able to a see a list of who their family members were, not cool! As facebook puts this data front and center. Worst yet it's publicly shared! Lets say you tried to contact one of them. And the blocked you, as what any normal person who is scared would.
You could logout and still see the information!
If anyone got wise, and had other intentions it would be a matter of what time that day it would happen.
Guys Never text. If their phones are compromised, there is your number and message right there.
Also Texting is considered Meta data and you do not need a wiretapping warrant for it. Cel providers pretty much allow any one to make a PIN request and get the data for a small fee. Never Contact anyone via Texts. Girls I hope you are reading this. Text can also be decrypted and intercepted in the Air as new technology has made this possible.
Never answer an ad with anyone with visible tattoos either, they might as well be showing their face!
I can pretty much go through a line up of online profiles and match the tattoo photos with the owner in minutes. It's a dead give way. And Tattoo owners seem to love to put up albums on their FBs dedicated to just their tattoos! You can't get any more stupid than that. You can hide your face but that butterfly tattoo on your right shoulder might as well be screaming out your name.
Girls do not have online photos albums of your tattoos. It's just stupid.
I'm sure anyone who post to these forums respects honest hardworking providers.
As I'm sure the feeling is returned.
But here is a list of changes I would like to see.
DO not post pictures with visible tattoos.
Do not post handles close to your real name.
Do not accept text.
Do not link your number to any online accounts connected with your identity. It is not safe for anyone.
Do not use images that are also on an online profile connected you to your identity.
Search your own images within Google image search (photo upload option) and Tineye regularly.
Use a Google voice / online number burner phone.

*This post is fictional and is only meant for entertainment purposes only. *.
I am also a hobbyist who hails from a larger market. I visited GR recently, had a nice time, and plan to visit again in the future which I why I have started following the GR forums.
From the provider side of things, most of your advice is generally spot on. Of course common sense dictates they shouldn't show their faces or identifiable tattoos or use numbers that can be traced to their real identity via Facebook, etc.
From the hobbyist side of things, I think you mean well but have missed the mark on a couple of points. For example, just because it's smarter for a provider not to show her face / tattoos doesn't mean hobbyists should avoid seeing providers who don't follow that advice. There are plenty of good providers who don't hide those items and many of them have been around for some time, so they have apparently found a way to make it work for them. I haven't seen any information to support the conclusion that it's somehow riskier to visit such providers.
Texting is a mixed bag in that the content of a text is more important than the fact a text was sent. LE can get call records as easily as text records and the fact a call was made to a provider's phone can also be problematic. A physical burner phone is the best option but not everyone can or wants to go that route. For hobbyists a bigger problem is if you have a SO who gets ahold of your phone and you have some powerful explaining to do! So I would agree with you that it's better not to text but would add that the real concern is that, if you do text, you absolutely need to be careful not to engage in any conversation that is even remotely incriminating. And I would also make the point that if LE is willing to go to the trouble of requesting a provider's phone records, they're going to get incoming / outgoing calls as well as any text messages. But those records alone are generally not enough to make a case against any individual hobbyist. Also, about Google Voice, that info can be obtained by LE subpoena whether it pertains to the provider or the hobbyist, no warrant required.
Finally, the wishful thinking component comes in with the hope or belief that anything much will change. As the oldest profession, there have always been providers and mongers who do the smart thing and those who don't. Thinking with the little head is the hobbyist's weak point. Thinking only about the $ is the weak point for many a provider.
But kudos to you for trying to get the word out to providers, even if it's in a roundabout way since the providers who read USASG tend to be the smart ones already.
