The neighbors complained about the gay gentlemen meeting in and near the park about a year ago. There have been several arrests for SEX OFFNS-EXPOSURE / LEWD&LACIV ACT in and near the park in 2014.
The SLPD web site has a neat crime map function. Scroll through the map for the area you are interested in. Decide if you want to park your car there. What LEO does with the search information, I don't know. Maybe do this from the library.

Took a cruise down south Broadway last night from 10 PM to 11 PM, crossed over Bates to Grand covered grand up to the park. Uncle LEO was out in major force. Must've seen four cars with lights ablaze in about a five minute stretch. Had a WSW pulled aside that they were giving the business to.
