Cassia. A visit so odd I had to tell my wife about (most of) it
After reading reports here and confirming the quality of Cassia's massage, I felt I had to book a visit. As a massage aficionado who had grown a bit frustrated by the lack of good providers in the area, I figured it was worth a visit. The prices were easily double what I would normally pay for a deep tissue massage from a certified MT but she had 90+ 5 star Google reviews so I figured it would be worth it.
I arrived at the same time she did and we walked up to the second floor of a strip mall together. I was asked to fill out a form with typical questions (meds, history, areas to work on) then, without being asked, I put cash on the form and rounded up to signal I was hoping for a nice ending.
The space was nice enough but nothing fancy. She put on a Spotify playlist with what seemed to be Portuguese music and proceeded to tell me how she loves to sing. And then started to sing along during the massage. This was interspersed with new-age type advice from her and the music at one point changed to a male voice offering new age / self help type words of wisdom.
She had started off the massage by pressing firmly on each toe then moved to my back initially with a sheet over then started using cream. When she did so, she paused to ask me about my relationship with my mother and explained the left side of the back is the 'mother side' and I should focus on my mom and the love she gave me while she worked there. When done with that side, it was time for the right and I was to think about my dad. We have a meh relationship so she recommended I concentrate on ways to improve it.
The massage itself was solid but definitely not twice the massage I could get anywhere else.
She moved to my legs and commented on my strong calves which would prevent me from developing dementia. She again did the odd squeeze the tip of each toe hard part.
Then came the flip and she did a good job on my legs / quads. I tried to hint at more but she didn't push closer than necessary. Did chest / abdomen with more talk that I was tuning out at that point. Then came a pause.
She said she could work on my 'other' area but that it wasn't tantra but rather a full body massage and that I should concentrate on a project that I was trying to complete so that I could release my energy but also cautioned that 'finishing' wasn't necessary. Oh and there was a charge for this. I agreed at that point and what followed was a very good but very clinical / detached massage focused exclusively on that one part which felt good but in a very non-sexual way if that makes sense. She edged me once then I finished and she moved on to complete the massage.
After the finish, I had an internal debate. I had rounded up by more than 2/3 of her request for the extra charge so wondered if I should just make up the difference. She ended up going over the 90 minute time so I decided the tip covered that and pulled out the extra money I had brought just in case something else was offered like a surprise 4-hand as someone mentioned.
When it was done and she had given me more affirmations, I got dressed and put the extra on her table. She immediately reminded me I had already paid before catching herself and remembering about the separate upcharge. I was offered water which I passed on as I had an ice water in a container in the car. She insisted and handed me a Fiji water that she had personally blessed and that I should bless as well before consuming it.
She is clearly a sweet and very spiritual person but I really like to zone out during massages and not be instructed on how to repair my relationship with my parents nor have endless singing / advice given to me.
On the way home, I texted my wife to tell her about the back part and she made sure I stopped the story and saved it for dinner with the family.
