If you make an appointment to show somebody a car in a few days, the no-show rate approaches 100. You might get 1 or 2 show up out of 10 or 20 appointments.
If you make an appointment to show somebody a car later that same day (I. E."on my lunch break" or "after work") , it's closer to 50/50.
If you have somebody come "right now" to see it, the no-show rate is still 20-40. This is to say that someone will see your ad to buy a car, call the phone number, ask some inane questions that are clearly answered in the ad, ask to come see it, ask for your address, ask for directions (because they're too stupid to use Google Maps) , tell you they'll be there in 10 minutes, and then never show up, never call, and send your calls to voicemail without answering.
This is for the purchase of a vehicle. Something completely legal, that you could tell your wife or boss about, that there is little or no chance of getting "sketched out" at the line of scrimmage. I have been told by the ladies that their no-show % is significantly worse.
It just puts you in a weird spot when you have agreed to meet someone for a transaction at noon on Tuesday, and so you don't plan anything else for noon, and noon goes by. 12:15 goes by. 12:30 goes by, other people are calling, you are putting them off because the person who called you at 11am telling you that this is their dream car and they are coming cash-in-hand to pay full price never shows.

But notel date providers shouldn't have that much 'volume' in a day to deal with, least ways not one's that I'd want to see.
