Among the many vital questions facing us on Tuesday is one that has not gotten a lot of press, but I'm sure the sort of people who got it on the ballot in the first place are well aware of it and will be certain to cast their votes for their side. We can not let that happen. Its a local non-binding straw ballot question so it doesn't carry any legal weight but the powers that be in Hillsborough County may be influenced by how it turns out. Unfortunately, it will be at the very end of the ballot and so could be very easy for some of us to miss. We don't want the religious extremists and morality police in our county to frame this debate and we don't want local government to once again waste taxpayer dollars persecuting victimless crime as they've done so many times in the past. So please do not overlook this question and be sure to weigh in for our side. The question is:

No fear...... Next time the question is up for vote it will have to be "Do you support raising your property tax so the county can fight adult businesses in court?"

NO 41.54% 112,272

The good news is 112,000 people voted NO. That’s a large voting block making a statement.

Bottom line, it was a non-binding ballot question, it will be business as usual.
