The same thing, well almost the same thing happened to me. They told me that my water pump on my Sienna was leaking and that I should do the timing belt replacement at the same time.
The van only has 28,000 miles. Also my brakes were low. The estimate was over.
$2000.00. I took it my friend and he couldn't find any leak, as for the brakes, they put in writing that it was 2 mm. I guess they don't use inches. My friend has a special gauge and he measured 4 mm. I read all the reviews on Yelp, even the 6 that weren't recommended, those were the scary ones. Never going back again.
QUOTE=Oreo Dacat;2038405]Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. If you need auto repair or even service don't go to Motor Imports. Its at 609 South Street.
They're a Toyota dealership. They tried to rip my friend off. It seems that everyone there works on commission. My friend went there for just.
An oil change and they told him his valve covers, and water pump was leaking. His estimate was $3,000. We looked everywhere and couldn't.
Find any leak. He took it back and they also couldn't find any leaks. RIPOFF. This morning I checked 'Motor Imports' on yelp. After reading that stuff, I'm going somewhere else. I heard LXS is good but busy. Anybody know anywhere else who fixes Toyotas?
Generally speaking the "Dealerships" are the most expensive place for auto repair and that is due to their high overhead cost to operate. They have large service facilities, a greater number of staff (technicians / service advisors) to pay and provide employee benefits, greater equipment and utility cost. They also have to maintain a parts department with staff and inventory which also factors into the overall cost. I've only taken my vehicles back to the dealership for "warranty" related work, anything else I take to my independent mechanic. Shops that pay on commission are more likely to up sell you on service you don't need or don't need immediately.

Most good shops will usually be busy, just like a good restaurant (or AMP!) that attracts business. If you are in town, try Punahou Auto Repair near the former Cinerama Theater. The guy (boss / owner, former mechanic) is a little cocky but they do good work and are accurate and honest. They are usually busy too, and go on a first-come-first-served basis.
I learned to tune-up my own cavemanmobile back when the dealership quoted almost 400 just to "inspect" things; with actual work (parts and labor), it might have been close to $1000 just for a tune-up.
BTW, some places will ask if you want Toyota parts, or if they have your permission to use aftermarket parts (because Toyota parts will be very expensive). You will see the difference in the quote.
Good luck,
H M

This happened 3 times and once while she was servicing me. She would get a call while we're finishing up. She says thank you honey to the other party and ask me if I can drop her off because she not feeling well. That night the place got raided. One day when we went out drinking she was complaining how this cop would pester her for meet him outside of work and demand sex..long story make short. She said but he promise to take care of her and make sure she no get in trouble..what ever. I am sure cop not ALL like that...yea?

I remember Lucky / Penny had the one HPD officer who she said was a stalker and was the sole reason she moved around different establishments all the time. Probably the ultimate reason she quit too!

Step daughter provider
So I been looking at the family pictures in my bosses office for over a year now. And today it dawns on me in DAMN his step daughter is a provider that is we'll know on this forum. She really didn't resemble any of her BP ads. I had to pop and old ad open on my phone and compare. She hasn't been of the BP for awhile now. With a little QanA for my boss I found out why. Only if he knew. Good luck to her she still on the island thought. Maybe I will hit up her partner she use to double with she's still active. Or better I may do some facebook searching and see if I come up with if I can get to her friends list. This is just to close to home now I know the island is small but damn in my boss office on the wall really. I have seen those picture many times.
INDA.
I know it's a tease but I can't put any names out. I will say when she was posting she said she was Latin nope part philipina and thick (bbw) cause her mother philipina real dad white.

A fellow monger has asked me to help and post this. He has done me a favor in the past so I agreed. He has gotten himself in trouble with the law over his monger ing activities and is in need of legal counsel. If any of you know of good attorneys who you know handle these cases please post here their info. My pm has been screwy lately and I think others may appreciate the same info. Thanks in advance.

When I was caught in a DT sting several years ago, I hired Miles Breiner. Got me off with DANC plea and eventually got to expunge it. Not sure how that's going to go down now with the new laws passed.
