Cruised the Zona midday Sunday. Not many SGs working. Walked thru Tropical, HK, and Las Chevelas. Very few chicas. Ran into a Gringa outside HK. Not bad for a Gringa SW. One block to the wax museum, another block to the police substation, across the small plaza and up the ramp or stairs, about two blocks length on the bridge over the Tijuana river and the entry on the left to the 400 yard walkway to Pedwest. 20 minute walk from the arch. About a mile total. If taking a cab tell the driver you want to get off at the old McDonalds. Walk West across the plaza, up the stairs or ramp and 50 yards on the right will be the walkway entry.

I'd beware or if anyone sees this please report on it. I walked by ped west around the end of July but did not use it. I found it funny that they set it up right on the bridge where there's been numerous issues in the past, especially at night. All those rats need to do is set up at the bottom of the staircases of either side of the bridge and shakedown anyone they want. Moe.

Can someone explain this? I know there was a bridge from the outlet but you still have to cross the street then walk behind the stores in the dirt next to the tracks before you get the the paved bridge thing. Is there another entrance besides the one behind McDonald?
Besides the conversion fee both ways to exchange pesos, I wouldn't know what to tip. Would it still be 20% knowing if you paid in USD it would be double? Taxi's like to do the 10% match or george Bush fuzzy mexican math. I got 5 pesos change back from ten bucks (which is a quarter in real math). I've never heard a taxi quote in pesos. I had a restaurant cashier give me change in pesos (she used a calculator). Since her match was correct, I have her the change as a tip. Do you guys exchange it back or just hang on to it for next time?

It was Mexican Independence Day. Was going on Friday with a friend but he bailed. Got some Phil's BBQ before parking near the $7 parking lot. BTW, the foot entrance by the Jack in the Box and McDonald's is closing this month. Permanently, I believe. A west gate is now open near virginia st. Took a trip to HK and stayed overnight at Hotel Cascada as I was in SD for work. Took the trolley from downtown SD ($2. 50) to the border, real easy. Got some food and exchanged for Pesos and crossed the border. The yellow taxi was going for $10 right at the crossing so I passed for a white cab at the street. Asked for $8 for Friday night, sheesh. Got there and checked in by 8 pm Friday night. Been to HK half a dozen times, and I have to say that this time was most disappointing from a talent perspective. Went down the last 2 Sunday nites. Both trips got down around 7:30-8 pm and came back late evening to early morning. A couple of observations are the parking lots are still ridiculously over priced in San ysidro and anyone paying 15 dls for 1-8 hours is nuts. I park my car on the street and so far have not had an issue in recent trips and it's free. Taxi libre has raised prices!! Before I even jumped into the taxi driver tells me minimum 7 dls. I thought he was kidding. I told him I pay 5 dls plus 1 dl tip and he points to the window where they have a decal now the says 7 dl day 8 dl night. Says gasolina muy cada en Mexico ahora. Next time I'll walk. Both Sunday's were pretty slow and last night the zona was crawling with police and military armored vehicles which looked like the army. I knew something was up so I asked around. Apparently early sat morning a couple officers were mowed down with.

I was there right after the shooting. Drugs guys shooting cops who stopped them is the word on the street. I was there about 11 hours later, around 3 pm (shooting was around 4 am Friday night). So I met up with amigo in tropical bar. I don't understand the baja Cali license plates, unless it's nostalgia to when it was part of Mexico. So anyway, I went to the outlet mall and allegedly decided to hop the border real Mexican food for dinner. The stores close at night, so I figure I'm good until 9:30 and 10 would be really pushing it. I was extremely confused when asked for a passport to go "in" to Mexico when I don't need one to exit (just use my card). With an exception and a warning I went in. There was a crazy line for the taxi's. I decided to walk over to the old entrance where the drugstore was playing music and catch a taxi there but it no longer exists (any of it). Decided to check out the chicas thinking most college girls have Friday off (at least in the us) but no teens. Went in to Hong Kong to watch some strippers and have some beers. First taxi wanted a ten spot, so I walked on. If offered 5 to the next and he countered 6. There was a massive police presence there (armed with most M-16 and a few shotguns). Being the proud possessor of a new GOES card, I thought I'd test the feasibility of daytime bombing runs to the Zona. Haven't done one since pre-2001 and haven't had a Tijuana trip of any kind since 2010. These days daytime trips are my only Tijuana option.
Circumstances were favorable for Wednesday, 9/28, so, after a few days of studying this and another site, decided it was a go. Arrived at the parking lot just West of where the last USA Freeway exit hits Camino de la Plaza at 10:30 am Weekday rate $7. Surprised to see that my long-time regular parking lot, where the outlet stores used to be (UTEA? Is all torn up and now USA Government property.
Hit the Mexican customs lines at 10:50. Not many people, but, still took about 15 minutes to get through. I can imagine the cluster-fuck it must be when there is a lot of traffic. I understand why the Mexicans want to have some control over who enters their country, but, it seems like they'd want to make it faster for gringos with spending $$ to get through. Turns out it took longer to get through Mexican Customs that it did to return to the USA Via Pedwest.
Decided to walk to the Zona – to get a feel for the new setup and also to make a stop at the pharmacy across from the Wax Museum (Piri? At the pharmacy I bought one 100 mg Viagra for $10.50 and a bottle of 4-100 mg. Maxifort for a bit over $5 (bought the "V" because I wasn't sure if the Maxifort would actually work).
Although it was hot I managed to power walk to Adelitas by 1130. Adelitas was deader than I remember, even though they had a show going on. When the CBP guy asked if I had purchased anything in Mexico, I put the Maxifort bottle on his desk. He asked "what's that" and I responded "generic Viagra. " He picked up the bottle, looked at it, typed something on his computer, handed me back the bottle and waived me through. What are they typing? Is some DF&A investigator going to show up ad my door sometime down the road and accuse me of importing generic Viagra?
Walked out the door at 1:45 pm – a total of 30 minutes walking from ZN to the exit on the USA Side. Made it back to my vehicle in the parking lot by 2:00 pm.
Total time elapsed, from arrival at parking lot to return to my car: 3. 5 hours. Add one hour to-and-from San Ysidro for a grand total of 4. 5 hours.
Expenses: $7 parking, $16 for "vitamins", $2 tips to AB strippers, about $30 for drinks for me and 2 chicas, $1 for LC robe, $16 Cascadas room and $60 for Diana. Total: $132.
So, the daytime bombing run is feasible, but, I'm in a situation where, to a large extent, time is more precious than money. So, strictly for the Chicas, it's not a great deal for me when, for about $50 more I can get a real good full service experience in one of our AMPs and only expend about an hour of my time. The tipping factor, however, might be the Maxifort. Worked great and, at about $1/ pill is a real bargain. My Medicare coordinated prescription plan hits me for over $20 per 100 mg tab. Since it doesn't seem to be a big deal bringing small quantities across, I could see a few runs a year to keep my "vitamin" supply up and hit a chica as a bonus each run.
There is one other swaying factor. It just felt damned good to be walking around in ZN again. That alone is worth some time investment.
I do have to work to regain my "chica sensor. " Wasted a lot of time settling on someone to take upstairs.

I understand why the Mexicans want to have some control over who enters their country, but, it seems like they'd want to make it faster for gringos with spending $$ to get through. Turns out it took longer to get through Mexican Customs that it did to return to the USA Via Pedwest.
Decided to walk to the Zona to get a feel for the new setup and also to make a stop at the pharmacy across from the Wax Museum (Piri? At the pharmacy I bought one 100 mg Viagra for $10.50 and a bottle of 4-100 mg. Maxifort for a bit over $5 (bought the "V" because I wasn't sure if the Maxifort would actually work).
Although it was hot I managed to power walk to Adelitas by 1130. Adelitas was deader than I remember, even though they had a show going on. Unfortunately the tangas stayed on so it wasn't real inspiring (and the girls weren't real inspiring either). I did open the Maxifort and down one while I was sitting there.

I wouldn't say never go down in the day but I would definitely not go M-W. These are the slowest days of the week and everytime I've gone down on these days I always came back thinking what a waste of time and money. Moe.

I've made more than 100 such daytime trips over the last few years and have noticed a steady increase in the quality and quantity of girls as it gets later in the day. I've found this to be the case in every bar and with street girls. Peak time on Sunday is perhaps 8:00 PM. Each following day the peak time gets later and later. By Thursday the peak time probably about 11:00 PM. I haven't seen the peak time on Friday or Saturday for quite some time because I leave when it turns into a sausagefest at about 9:00 PM.
I'm sure others would disagree with the times I have listed, but I am confident of the trends.
Personally, I prefer Sunday through Thursday because they are not so busy and the girls tend to be more relaxed.

Sept 18th- got down around 8:30 p and came back at 2 am. Not as busy as Friday and Saturday nights but definitely a good time to be had. Sept 25th- got down around 7:30 p and left the zona at 11 pm. Went to las pulgas from 11 p-12 a. This particular evening was dead. I think a lot had to do with the shooting the previous Saturday morning. Police and military vehicles all over and I got real bored and left. Bars were dead. I always enjoy going down on Sunday evenings when I don't have much to do on Monday. It's a lot less crowded. Moe.
Just about any day is good if you are looking for Freelancer's. I have been on Sunday's on numerous occasions have always found a good Freelancer. The action is still about the same as your other weekdays. Mondays are a bit slower, but there is still a lot of girls out. I was down last Monday and it was one of the few times when there was a lack of good independents. I normally skip the weekends, because I prefer do other things on the weekend nights. I normally go Tues, Weds or Thursday depending on what my schedule is like.

I usually monger the LA SW and I have to say, if you're picky and you take forever to get a date, go to Tijuana. I spend the same amount of money and almost the same amount of time, gas cost even factored in. I just get better result down there. Both times a $5 ride, some tacos, few beers. I usually wait around cascadas for my ATF who is really popular. The rest of the time I'm there is just browsing, looking for the next best thing. I like them young and thin and pretty. I think I've got the best in spades but I'm just never satisfied.
The second Friday, I went with a friend. Hit up my ATF, then chilled at Malquerida for about HHR. A live band played american songs like Roadhouse Blues and Santoria. They had a 2 beers for 2 bucks. Sign me up! They tried to seat me with some chubby ass girl. The only one I wanted was talking to some dude and eventually sat at a table next to me. Didn't even bother to ask for her prices (if they even do that there like HK or adelitas). Met up with my friend and walked, looking for the next best thing. She had kinda buck teeth, but she looked kinda gothy, so I was down. And for 10 I was in! Jackpot. Even if this girl would be a bad time, it was cost effective. There was upsell of the usual stuff. I have been noticing that crime and police corruption has been rising again. There was a recent report that some bandto's tried to rob this one guy by the arch in early morning last week. Also heard that this one guy had left the casino and cops stopped his cab and robbed him. Another report of shakedown by the NY club in Tijuana. So I would advise everyone to use due caution in Tijuana. Do not be complacent and always look who is behind you when there is not other people around.
Had business in SD for the weekend so I went south of the border Fri and Sat. There is still major police / military presence all around Constitution and Revolution. Taxi driver asked if I needed a drugs hook up.
