I avoid SW hot zone too. I avoid the city all together. Get out of the jurisdiction. With hot pursuit theory, the local LE may follow you to out side the city boundary but it doesn't happen often. Drive safely, obey the speed limit, stop at the stop sign, do not make a sudden turn / lane change, just don't create any reasons LE to stop you. Just get out of town quietly. I have my spots every direction out from the city boundary.
