I leave everything in the car. I take only the donation in an envelope and the key to the car (I take the car key off the key ring etc). That's it!! Always. No exceptions (ever).

I have even thought of hiding the car key on the car itself (but worried that there might be a spy around that is able to see where I hide the key. So in the balance decided it was safer to take the key with me).

I think you can never be too safe.
