Most are legit foreign students from Japan using it as an excuse for a student visa to play in Hawaii for a year or two. I've received massages there many times. $30/ hour for a student massage. So for $30 + tip, it is a cheap way to relax. And have a cute therapist rub you down. They do advise, however, to keep the undies on. Unfortunately you can not request a specific therapist initially. But after you meet them once, you can request them again by name. Some will even do on the side since they can only receive tips. Hard for a student to work and survive on tips. The therapist I saw last night said they need 650 hours before they can take a test to become licensed. Many don't get their license because the state requires a SSN. Most are on student visas.
