I've been following the postings and believe BMal's compassion is well placed. Feeling responsible for someone's lot isn't just for SW's, it can be a cafe server, bartender, contractor etc. When you take the time to talk to a provider you change the relationship from business to semi-personal. It's always about the transaction but once you engage in conversation and establishing common ground, it's only natural that you can't help taking interest. Over the years I've made friends, but in the back of my mind I remember it's only business.

I dont know man Ive seen this chick and I seriously dont think she wants to turn her life around. She told me she wants to go out and party with me, probably cause Im young too but most likely because she thinks I got or know people with drugs or something and shes looking for a hook up on whatever it is shes into. I have a friend from the gym who is a doctor at a local Urgent care. We were talking about the topic at hand and he told me that I have no idea how many freaked out married guys come in with some type of STD.

The most popular STD today is Chlamydia. The virus travels well in saliva and is mostly transmitted with oral sex. It usually takes 14 to 21 days to show symptoms. One of his first questions is "have you had sex with anybody in the last 3 weeks". If the answer is yes then he suggests they get tested. He said the look on the face of some of these guys is pure horror. He also says that those who practice unprotected oral sex have very good odds of catching something sooner or later.

My question is how do you break the news to your spouse just in case you happen to have one?

Do you ever wonder what happens to some of the posters who suddenly disappear, maybe they caught something nasty and decide to get out of the game......In case we have forgotten this is a high stakes hobby.

I think I'll play it safe with the R&T joints and sleep better at night

It is a business, but when you take time to converse and get to know someone and find commonalities and intellect. You cannot help but take interest, and sometimes, when the girl is sweet and nice. Want to help them. I just have to remember that it is a business, and no matter how sweet I am to her and her to me. I provide her with $ and gifts and she provide me with company and extras. That's all, it gets difficult sometimes when you care about them. But that's their job or their b/f (if they have one) job to help themselves get out and I can only do so much.

As for safety, the previous posts on STDs got me thinking. I used to hate CBJ, now, I think that might be the way to go. My main regular only does CBJ and perhaps that is a good thing. I still have two on my list that does BBBJ, but my main regular and cheap backups only does CBJ, perhaps that is good.

In my case, I gave my girlfriend of 10 years a dose of chlamydia and it was basically over. As well is should of been. We tried for a while and she never really trusted me again. IMHO, if your out here doing this you should not be married or have a girlfriend. Once I found this hobby I never really wanted to have a girlfriend but didn't know how to get out of the relationship. So I practiced the hobby and paid the price.

VERY different treatment than for viruses. Typically Viral STD's are Non-curable (Hpv, HIV, etc) while bacterial STD's are curable (chlamydia, syphillis) but that's not to say things will always remain so. With the rampant use of antibiotics, more and more drug-resistant strains of bacteria are popping up.
