About to give longer report on my trip but real quick about crossing border. Since June when I cross I use the "I am seeing a friend". I have never been pressed on this in any way crossing into USA. 4 out of 5 times going in the Mexico I was not pressed any further on this. The 1 out of 5 times I was told tourism is shut down and I need to buy Visa. That was summer 2020.

Washington Dental is very foreigner friendly but it's also not the cheapest as a result. It's on Revolution just a block South of the Hotel Ticuan. Pretty dental assistants and everyone speaks English. TBH I only went there the first time because I really wanted a medical fast pass. Those things are life savers.

Teeth implants work better if done soon after you remove the bad tooth when the jaw bone is still fresh.
Dentists would have to drill a hole, graft cadaver's or animal ground bone tissues in the hole, wait for it to bond, inspect it a couple time, drill it out, screw in a steel anchor, wait for it to heel before screwing on a false tooth. The whole process takes about 1 month, depending how well the new bone bonds. It would be really tight to do it on vacation.
Even if everything works satisfactorily, the high forces on the tooth eventually loosen the steel anchor.
I've read ads in US doing implants for $500 per tooth, about 1/3 of reputable dentists. Don't know how good it is or how long it lasts. Check it out.

Not really looking for dental services, just a general question. I did get an tooth implant 4 -5 years ago with my periodontal guy. Doubt I would try that kind of thing in TJ or SE Asia.

The clinic is on Benito Juarez on the drive back to SD, at corner of O'Campo, right where the street divided into 3 lanes to head North to San Diego. It's about 3 blocks from Zona Norte. 2 competent dentists work 7 days a week. Clinic is nice, clean, pleasant, equipment all modern.
They did a root canal for me for $150 when exchange was 12:1, compared to $500 cash price min in OC. The dentist was professional and efficient. We will be going down in car pool lanes, drive across over the border at El Chaparral, and drive straight to the bars. There is no walking, waiting for taxi, delay by immigration ect. It's a lot quicker, safer and less work. Returning at 10:30 we will arrive back by 11:45. Most wingmen are good, safe drivers. We don't want to risk tickets or accidents returning at night.
On the way back I would drop guys without SENTRI near the metal gate so they can walk across on foot while I drive across in a SENTRI car and wait near the jack in Box. Walking back across at night usually takes only 5 to 10 minutes. Cars without SENTRI usually have to wait 2 to 3 hours in the READY lane even after midnight.

There are a couple tricks to reduce ped crossing time.
Get the Sentri. This is totally worth it and I am an idiot for not having it.
1. Cross early. On Sat I have seen almost no line at 4:30 AM. On Friday there is already a line at this time but it went in under a hour.
2. Pay about $7 to ride a shuttle to front of line. Beem a while since I did this. It was not running at 5 AM.
3. Last Friday at 11 AM line was long af. Long story short paid $20 to go to front of line and stand what looked to be handicap area to the right. It seemed shady but guy who took my money brought a mexican police to vouch for him and girl who was watching us at front of line was speaking to the officers doing the passport check as we came in. I think this is official but being run by people trying to earn extra "commisions".
