Hmm, North and Rockwell is right in line with the canyon...the Rockwell corridor through there was, and is still, a dangerous stretch.
lots of changes there but it was always one of the most gun/gang/drug happy runs in Chicago...i always avoided it at all costs. 3:00 in the morning in that area and picking up girls is always gonna make you very angry at your pecker.
I was headed westbound on Diversey and spotted a petite WSW walking eastbound. I turned around and parked just east of Laramie. She stopped and look, then got in. Her name is Jamie and 21. She asked for .20 for BJ. I asked to see her goodies, nice groomed patch, a nice belly but very small on top. This is the third girl I've seen on Diversey between Austin and Cicero. One HSW and two SWS. This could be a new spot.
Been a while since I've acted, typically I cruise and consider the consequence of a negative experience and back off. I got lucky the other day on Manh, I went out at 4am and my rule of thumb on 4am is never go with what you saw the night before. In this instance, was able to snag the one who didn't appear cracked out and have a relatively safe, quick experience. Her hair was still damp from a shower, in fact. Amazing to see the action out there. Chicago and NYC are the worst for the hobby - I just wish I was in the game in the 70's when I understand from my older friends that it was fish in a barrel and they all dressed the part. Now it's like mining for gold. And it ain't gold, I assure you.

Looks as though the cops were running a sting. Usually the cops nail newbies that happen to driving home and want to get some action. A few years back I pulled up this one guy and and saw him get busted by a decoy. Makes me sad to see this.

It's the usual spots - North and Hermitage, Cicero by Fullerton and down by the Midway stroll, etc.
They're trying to clean up North between Ashland and Damen because all the Trixies that moved in in the last few years are always bitching. However, in all the other locations, they're just being a pain in the ass. It's probably business as usual in those spots.
If you take reasonable precautions and know what to look for, you should be able to avoid trouble.

It's not the names - it's the addresses where the stings are ocurring that might help some, perhaps not you.

This area getting a lot nicer IS NOT a recent happening. The entry level price around here for a new home is well north of $1 million, and $2-3 million homes are not uncommon. If you paid that for a home, you'd be pissed if some guy was getting a blow job in front of your house.
This is not a case of "a few trixies" moving in.
If you see a hot chick on North Ave. between Ashland and Western, she's just a hot chick. If you're looking for something else, you'd best head west of Western.

I was just making the distinction of why Leo is operating stings there. I haven't cruised that area myself in years. However, some guys have posted about picking up SWs in that area. There is too much of a Leo presence for me to risk making a move in that neighborhood.
Interesting but old news to most of us who have been around for a while. What was interesting is the cop in the video said they have to have an offer for money for sex which is complete BS. If you stop and say hi and offer a ride they will nail you. It happened to 2 people I know and I have heard many stories here that verify that.
They do tend to work stings in some of the same spots so going to the arrest page can be very helpful in identifying those areas such as the first 2 blocks east of Cicero on 47th, as well as Cicero and 50th st next to Churches Chicken and also a block north.
Also the arrest site will help you identify the days of the week most common for stings. The girls will tell you that it all happens on Tues and Thur which are "vice days". However the site shows it happens every day of the week. However, I did notice a lot less stings on the weekends probably because they need all the cops on the street going after the increased criminal activity you normall see on the weekends.
Remember that you should always pull a half block away and make the girl come to you. Vice won't usually move that far away from their spot due to the close proximity of their backup. Also, if she comes to the driver window you need to bolt. Kepp your windows up and don't say anything until she's in the car. If she gets in the car she is not a cop as they don't want to take that risk of having a female cop get into a strangers car.

This is actually not a new spot but an old spot that dried up several years ago. 10-15 years ago there were girls there regularly but never in great quantity. However, the quality of that area was better than Cicero in general.

Thanks for posting that information on the You Tube video. It was actually every interesting to watch. I have seen stings go down on that particular corner. You know if you see a girl there that looks to good to be true scope the area first for all the unmarked squads that are sure to be close by.
However it was a very good video to watch. Thanks for posting that.

I just see a lot of reports of guys on this board still trying to cruise that stretch, and I'm trying to keep people out of the pokie. I think a lot of mongers come in from the suburbs cruising for SWs, and they don't realize that the entire Wicker Park area is probably a lot nicer and more expensive than where they live!
