Well.... not really. Remember your Econ 1101 class. Supply and demand reach the efficient price only under ideal conditions. The textbook case is produce in a farmer's market. However, we hardly ever get ideal conditions. There are "disequilibriums" under all sorts of conditions:
1. The buyer has imperfect knowledge about prices or alternatives.
2. The product is so complicated that an ordinary buyer can't understand what he's getting (e.g., health insurance) or fundamental features of the product are hidden (e.g., cell phone contracts).
3. The buyer makes an impulsive or emotional decision. (Gotta have it now no matter what!)
4. The commodities are not seen as interchangeable. The product is perceived as unique or very rare.
5. Buyers make a decision based on loyalty, taste, or some other "irrational" criterion. (e.g., my daddy always bought Chevys and I will too!)
6. Status issues. I will pay more because everyone will know that I paid more and that will give me status. (e.g. buying a Mercedes.)
7. Etc., etc.
It's really helpful to share information so that we'll all have a "ballpark" idea about pricing and services. My point is that this hobby is not very much like buying green beans or squash. There is always going to be an element of emotion, loyalty, impulse, status, mystery, perceptions of rarity, etc. There will never be a "perfect market." Never. Some guys are going to pay more and others less, for all sorts of reasons. We go round and round this same topic. Can't we just let it go?
Intermission break from Econ-101.
Found myself at a tough decision one afternoon. There were two providers new on the scene that I wanted to sample; Vanilla Xpresso and Cashmere. Spoke with both over the phone, but Vanilla's conversation appealed to me. However, I was in the mood for a young spinner to punish, So Cashmere was on the menu. I like what you said but ultimately the decision lies with you as to rather you are going to cough it up or keep it in your pocket. I have been in situations where the ho looked like a mutt and smelled like hot garbage but I forked over anyways and then kicked myself afterwards. Lately I have gotten in the habit of turning around before i fork over if I think the ho is not what I ordered or the situation don't feel right.
If you think about it, the rate all of the nation is 150-250 an hour and a lil higher for the stars. The kicker is that it has been the same for over 5 years maybe more. So really prices have dropped

I agree!!! I know a few "Eros" gals who have had to cut prices. I also know a few gals who are getting out of dodge, because business has slowed considerably. Other providers are looking for other work besides the hobby.
Now about supply, there are many more civilian/stripper gals stepping tentatively into the business and many more gals making touring stops in Atlanta....ergo price deflation.
