Struck Out Late Thursday Night
Made the trip to Brockton late Thursday night, arrived at about 3 am. First hit the Block, like old days, and there was nobody there. Zero. Then hit the gas station next to Vicente's, just south of the supermarket, and there was nobody there. Cruised down to Montello, hit the Royal, sadly no cheese. There were a few dudes there. Drove through, kept on moving. Cruised around city hall, nobody. There was no Uncle around, at all. I'm guessing that they knew that there were no women out and around, so, why bother. Saw some activity up crescent, in the parking lot on Maple off Crescent, actually think this was just locals partying in the parking lot (not entirely clear, but no apparent SWs there. Drove around another half hour, back through the Block etc. , nothing. Back to Royal, there was one white woman, about 40, dark curly hair, sitting with the dudes. I gave her the look as I drove by, she seemed to acknowledge, and then got up and slowly made her way over to my vehicle, carrying bags (I hate that). She hopped in, but had the strongest smell of acrid perfume I have ever smelled. Like aggressive lilac flowers, but weaponized. She immediately started complaining about how she lost $20 in her bra or something. I tossed her $10, said, "Hop out, find your $20, and I will swing around and pick you up". She happily accepted the $10, hopped out, and I headed back to Boston.
