If they had proof he would've arrested you on the spot. If she was involved in a sting he would've got you then. All he was doing is using scare tactics to reduce john traffic. A hobbyist has nothing to fear from being pulled over like this. You need to know your rights. Unless they have clear audio / video of you inside and paying cash for your fun.
They can watch all they want. The lady might be a swinger! I would have told the cop that if he wasn't in the house he can only guess at what happened inside and his guess work will not hold water in court. I doubt he had anyway to charge you with anything at all. This is just their way of scaring folks off.
I have never heard of a bust that didn't involve a set up with a undercover inside or just a snitch. But your visit was just the two of you and no way to prove what happened and no right for him to ask if you had no illegal guns or drugs on you they had nothing. If your single I would suggest more action on your behalf.

First of all, I would have never told the officer that I had 'dropped off money'. The easiest thing to do is to say that you had stopped by to look at a TV, camera, video game system, stereo, etc, that someone was selling on craigslist. You have a phone number and address, just may not have an actual 'for sale' posting to show on craigslist. If the officer then asks for it, pretend to look, and say 'oh, they must have just taken it down because I was coming to look at it'. Then you can either say you didn't want the item, the item was priced too high, or that you will be coming back tomorrow with a truck to move it.
Don't show weakness or be nervous or uncooperative-it just reflects guilt in the eyes of LEO.
If they make threats about sending letters or whatnot to your wife, just laugh it off and say, 'my wife would love it if I had a piece on the side so she wouldn't have to do me anymore. '
All it takes is a little $$$ and a good lawyer to make something as trivial as a misdemeanor first offense charge to go away.

You did a really good job of making a reasonable comment that they couldn't disprove, unless the provider rolled over on you. Hopefully they don't bust her and obtain her info and escalate things from there. I wouldn't worry too much on this and rather doubt that they would pursue you further. As stated by another poster, it is likely a scare tactic, and a rather successful one at that. My guess is there is something else afoot here with the provider; trafficing or abuse in substance, more than rubba-dub-dub. They could have considered the traffic stop was the opening of an investigation and if they had a chg to levy they could file this and serve the summons on you. Charging you and convicting you are two diff things, but the objective here is to embarrass as stated earlier... But I doubt that they go to this effort, JMHO.
