Metro's Massage Parlor Bust Angers Owner

The ACLU wants to know if the actions taken by Metro Police on its latest massage parlor raid were justified. Attorneys for the parlors say the methods were too aggressive for a simple arrest.

Metro tells Eyewitness News that the reason for the raid was to arrest a worker at Miyako's parlor on suspicion of prostitution. But the attorney for the parlor questions Metro's motive.

Surveillance video of the raid show officers running in with handguns drawn. Minutes later, the camera is pointed toward the ceiling masking any activity taking place.

"Why do the police bring their guns? Just ladies work there. I don't understand why they bring their guns and turn the camera." said Ben Lee, Kingdom Massage Parlor.

Lee says all the women at Miyako's were unarmed. Metro says they pulled their guns as standard operating procedure and the reason the camera was turned was to was to protect the identity of their officers.

Allen Lichtenstein is an attorney for the United Massage Business Association. "It makes no sense. The explanations given make no sense and because when you have police acting in a way indicates they don't want to be scrutinized. That's when you should have more scrutiny," Lichtenstein said.

He adds the raid could be retaliation because it coincidentally occurred only hours after a meeting took place between parlor owners at Miyako's parlor. The owners were meeting to protest Clark County's new regulation that requires 24-hour parlors to close at 10 p.m.

"If these people are breaking the law, the responsible people in the industry have as much an interest in stopping that as does anyone else because the proposed law would put them out of business," Lichtenstein said.

Even so, Lee and his fellow parlor owners say they are being intimidated.

Was in Las Vegas this past weekend and had a blast! After some strip bar action, my friend, who is a local, took us down spring mountain road to try and find an open AMP. I can't remember the names, but the one next to the locksmith was closed so he took us to one that had a late night Chinese restaurant next to it.

A cabbie recommended this place. That should've been my first clue. Once inside, I paid a non-refundable $50 just to enter. Then they send you back to a guy who explains the packages. There's a $500 hour package, $400 for 45 minutes, $300 for 30 minutes. I was gonna bolt becase I didn't want to pay $300, but then he told me they have a local's special of $200. She told me I had to tip the guy $20, so I did so. Once inside I got a cold hard bed, she come in a starts rubbing my hand with some lotion. Then she says for another $300 I could go into the VIP room for better service. SAY WHAT! So I said no way, and she countered with $200, I still said no, she said ok $100. At this point I figured the place was a ripoff and if I was going to fork over any more money they'd just ask for more later. So I said forget it, she rubbed my damn hand for 5 more minutes (didn't even get my full half hour) and I bolted. The only good part was that on my way out the door I convinced two guys who were about to go in to turn around.

Looks like I made a good decision, as some guy on this thread spent $810 there for a foot and hand massage. DO NOT GO TO THIS RIPOFF JOINT!

I was in Vegas 2 weeks ago and I was thrilled. I must admit I was a little shocked with what I found in Vegas. I have been a long time monger in the philly area, and I am what you would call a bargin hunter. I've been dissapointed with the selection of girls at the local AMP here in NW vegas. Does Hong Yung have a better selection? Any recommendations would be great.

I have been to town twice in the past three months to take care of business. July was my first venture into an AMP. Having read posts on this forum, I knew how to act, but not necessarily what to expect, having read posts regarding what may or may not be available.
