I've seen providers in crappy chains like Days Inn, Super 8, the dump near near the Hartford RR Station, to high end and no-tels on the 'pike. On business or pleasure trips I only check in once, and the person at the desk is rarely the same person when I return and walk right on by, often nodding hello or waving.

Has that place had lots of sketchy activity in the past, like high volume providers? Is there something about you or your dress that attracts attention, like being over or under dressed for the establishment?
