I'm a huge fan of Thai indies and personal friends with a few. That particular topic has never come up but I suspect what you've been told is accurate.

That being said, money does have a way of persuading. But here's what it would take, IMO:

I've had a similar experience with a TBG I met in Chiang Mai. She was 24 when I met her, told me she had a kid when she was 19.
