Sorry for the confusion! I was using "South of the Border" as a landmark. It is a HUGE tourist trap next to I95 on the NC/SC border with a Mexican motif. The Osaka and an adult book store are located on 301 south behind this place. I had just got a haircut when I went to Osaka and was grilled about being LE. I got the usual, "ever been here before?". I told the lady that I had been to Greensboro many times in the old days. She didn't know where "Gleensboro" was since she was from LA. She finally decided I was cool so I had a great time. The prices are in line with the old Greensboro AMPS.

I tried out Secrets. I would not recommend them. When the girl got to my room, she had a nice bod but face was almost hideous. Then she said that she was their top model and that FS would be 400. Does anyone have any info on a strip club called Tobie's? I am going to Jacksonville in the next week or so and I saw it on a list of NC strip clubs but they didnt have a review about it. Such as what the ladies are like, table dances, vip dances, cost of beer. Things like that. Thank for any info you all can give. Plus are there any jack shacks in town and info on them if any.

I haven't been in Tobie's in 5 or 10 years, so no current info - I did have some luck with an off duty stripper from there about 15 years ago (gave her a ride back to her trailer, she relieved my, er, umm, tension). The bar is basically a dive but the staff was always friendly & beer prices were pretty much the same as you'd get at a restaurant or "normal" bar. I don't recall the prices on the table dances, but I don't think there was much groping or extras going on in the bar.

I've seen another bar on hwy 17 "La Mirage" or something like that - it's North of Tobie's & looks from the outside to be a bit more upscale.

Jack Shacks - J-ville used to be the jack shack mecca of NC. In recent years, however, they seem to have been disappearing. The only ones I've seen in recent years are one way south of J-ville on highway 17 near the Pender County line (Pleasure Palace or something like that - it's a double wide trailer on the east side of the highway - they have a sign by the road & the entrance is near a median cut-thru). Closer to Tobies is another trailer called Smitty's - it's probably 1 or 2 miles south of Tobie's on highway 17. I've never visited, but saw it mentioned in one of the boards here. I was driving through J-ville a couple of times this week and saw 3 sheriffs cars parked in front of Smitty's on Sunday a little before noon. Later in the week I drove past again & it was closed - don't know if it's permanent or not. I heard there may be a couple more jack shacks northwest of town (on hwy 258 between J-ville & Richlands), but have never investigated.

Had the pleasure of visiting J'Ville last week while I was on vacation. Besides the joy of seeing all the jarheads with their "high-&-tights" and the helo activity overhead, I had the pleasure of meeting "Dee" on 17 just north of the McD. Nice place the talent was between a 6-7.5 on the stripper scale. Nothing on par with Vegas. Drinks were inexpensive on the Tuesday nite I was there. Take out was not available. If you are into strip clubs this is an an OK place to go on a Tuesday. If I had to pay full price for the booze it would have been disappointing.

I lived in Jacksonville for 4 years, and all I have to say is stay away from Tobies, it is where strippers go to die. The quality of women there are horrendous everywhere but the cave has better looking women.
