My goal would be to get across the border have some fun and come back over within a few hours tops. I don't want to get stranded in some long line which is why I got the global entry card and I don't want to go and deal with massive crowds. Just wondering if by going midday if I'm going to be disappointed in a lack of talent.[/QUOTE]I honestly think it's still worth it and I can see why some people would prefer it. I've been there during weekdays during the afternoon and I recognized hot girls from night shifts, since some night shift girls start in the afternoon anyway. HK always has hot girls there, no matter time of day. It's pretty much how it is at night but more relaxed, less people, pretty chill. The issue is you will not see as many girls generally speaking, hot or not, but also especially less 10's. There will still be hot girls though and I've noticed prices are cheaper during the day, I've had the same girls quote me higher prices at night than during the day.

My issue with your plan is purely personal preference but I wouldn't pop my HK cherry with a weekday afternoon shift. I still vividly remember being very young and going there for the first time, walking through the curtains and finally witnessing the Holy Land. It's truly amazing and mindblowing the first time. You get the full experience at night with the sheer number of hot girls and everyone else there partying, the shows, the drinking, all of it. If I were your friend, I'd insist you wait until a weekend night. But if you have no other option, you won't be disappointed anyway. Just my advice.

There is also a lot of reports about shakedown's in the FB Rosarito living group. The cops have been shaking down peoeple that cut in on the sentri auto line.

I have been shaken down about 3-4 times by the police in TJ. Personally I have not been shaken by cops in 2-3 years. This because I do not drive or get drunk in TJ.

Did my usual crossing by foot and grabbing a cab. 5 minutes from the club I see flashing lights. Get pulled over and told to empty backpack and put my hands on the trunk.

Had 1 k in a small bag, 3 blunts (inside my condom box) and 2 big glass bottles of water. They asked if I had drugs and I said no. Asked if I had weed and I said no. They literally checked the bag with the money, then proceeded to let me go.

Speak a little Spanish so I believe it helped.

Best advice, don't drive! They see American plates, you're almost guaranteed to get pulled over and robbed by police. Never visit an ATM with the police in line of sight. Heard stops are more common during holidays so take that for what it is. Next time I go I'll try to arrive while the suns still up to be cautious.

There is always an increase in police presence during the holidays for multiple reasons.

Non-municipal law enforcement forces flood the border region during the holidays, this can include federal police, state police, treasury, etc. Their official duties are enforcement and protection and they have authority to set up stops on streets all over TJ. They primarily set up around highly trafficked commercial areas or in higher end residential neighborhoods. Most of the officers have basically won or inherited their privilege to come to TJ from places around the country because they get to pad their wallets by citing enforcement of laws and regulations that normally aren't enforced. It's basically a windfall for them because employers in Mexico are required to provide their workers with an annual Christmas bonus called an aguinaldo. On top of that, they know many residents in TJ also earn dollars on this side of the border. Lastly, they can confiscate items that were bought in the US as Christmas gifts that should have paid a duty but people crossed without declaring and paying the duty on. Basically, it's early 1900's NYPD earning their "bonus" in a couple of weeks.

Can you cross over into Tijuana with just a drivers license? I'm assuming no, but would like to ask you gentlemen that frequent the area exactly what's needed in order to do so. The street girl videos on YouTube make me want to take the plunge and go back, but it's been years and I'm not sure of the current protocol. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. DM's are welcome.

However as a US citizen they have to let you back in, and on the Mexican for years they never cared but they would charge you a $20 'fee' (bribe). Beginning in Oct. 2024 Mexico got a bit stricter. They began turning away lots of foreigners who only had driver's licenses and not allowing for the $20 bribe. That said its slightly relaxed, late at night they still usually wave everyone through but they are occasionally turning others back and I hear its hit and miss with the $20 day fee. I've witnessed them turn people back as recently as the week before Christmas / new years.

You can roll the dice or drive in (no document checks driving). Other options are also crossing at otay instead of san ysidro or using pedwest crossing if not too late (pedwest is not 24/7). So far they are still waving everyone through at the other crossings.

DM's are welcome.[/QUOTE]No, unfortunately. Mexican side is beginning to check everyone coming in and you need a valid passport, you'd need it on the way back anyway. The street scene may not be as great as the videos, depending on when they were filmed in terms of years and season. It's died down a bit the last few years, sad I always passed them by without trying them until recently, but it's also cold so there may be less of them out there. Careful for shakedowns.

Recommend you try Michelle. She's like 25 or so, very short, petite, braces, curly hair. Cheap and young. She's on Constitucion between the alley and Coahuila, usually stands outside the hotel with the winding staircase close to the food carts.
