" If a cop wants to arrest you they can arrest you. They do not do the charging, they simply arrest you, take you into custody, and run you downtown.

She said yes so he said it then she arrested him. He was never charged because he obviously wasn't saying he wanted to engage in commercial sex he was just trying to get her to stop bugging him and the tape proved it but it didn't stop him from getting his name in the paper.

There are so many laws in the US that everybody is breaking several laws every day. Cops can always arrest you. DA's can always charge you as well, they do that shit all the time to appear tough on crime then drop the charges the next day after you're in the paper.

Yes, the police would "be allowed to make an arrest", though I don't know that I'd state it as "when no law has been broken. " In the examples I gave, I'd suggest that the lack a conviction indicates that the prosecutor could not prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that a crime had taken place. However, as to the cops, they made an arrest because the felt they had probable cause to do so. The standards of "beyond a reasonable doubt" and "probable cause" are two very different things.

A2 had it right, if a cop wants to make an arrest, he can probably justify it. As to your statement of "as long as we never discussed money or services, it would be impossible to be arrested", I would disagree. Using my examples again, neither situation involved a discussion between both parties as to "money or services". For me, this is a great example of why these sites are so helpful. If a provider has reviews out there, at least you can be reasonably confident that she is an actual provider, not an undercover cop.

A2.[/QUOTE]Do why'all remember the LoveShack debacle in Orlando some years back? Most local media had a cringe fest of publishing names of clients of what they called a "brothel". In the end, not a single client arrested but several high profile people were smeared publicly. The information on others was publicly available so I would guess most of the clients not on the news were outed at work etc.

A2 is spot on about what the objective of the the is, making headlines through cases individually or by statistics. The junior ADAs are just trying to clear cases, and would rather unload the smaller ones.

On a personal note, I recently had a cop not want to arrest someone for a clear crime, witnesses and all. I finally asked him if I pushed his chest with one finger, would he call that "battery on a LEO" He then arrested the guy in my case because he knew what I was saying. The police have a lot of latitude in how they enforce things. Sometimes that works in our favor, too.

That was the only time I can recall that vice went to a home to make an arrest for prostitution but they had her on texts alone and were simply going there to arrest her.

I have spoken to several girls throughout the years and whenever they have been arrested it is for being lured away from their home for outcall, usually incriminating texts are enough mentioning price and specific sexual act.

I use a website that seems to be several days behind so I was not aware of the skip the games arrests. Sandy is looking rough as hell, she was rooming with Suki (RIP) about 4 years ago and looked do-able than but now looks like a poster child for before and after Candyland pic.
