I did the quick risk reward analysis in my head and like you concluded that service in the past has not been great so I just kept my money and left.
I respect and appreciate the sentiment, but feel like your perspective of the past is a little rose-colored. LA Spa and Lansing Accu have had good providers at times, but have been very inconsistent. Beyond that, the others have been very rarely FS and as far as their HJ services, again, very inconsistent. The only thing consistent in Lansing area was when Micki was at Hawaii. Obviously, you could count on her and I think she raised the game for awhile, especially for Lansing Accu which had a few good ones on a short term basis.
But beyond Mikki and her time at Hawaii, has any place ever been consistently good for more than a matter of months? I'd say no. Lucky in Jackson has been good for perhaps more than 10 years, due to Hannah and now Micki. And the Oriental Spa near Jackson and the either one or both of the BC spas all have better track records over time than any Lansing place (other than Hawaii during Mikki).
That all said, I think we're fortunate to have what we've had. Outside the big cities like LA, NY and a few others, there aren't many good AMP scenes, save for a few situations blessed by luck and circumstance. Warren OH, I can't explain, but very few places like it with smaller cities and 1 or more reliable places.
Oh well, that's my take on the Lansing and national scene from 30+ years of mongering. I invite response or different takes. Hell, I long for the 90's in Atlanta, where I discovered AMPs and spent 1000's of dollars over several years. But things like that usually don't last.

Either you can't remember or you remember it better than it was. With that said, I too recall the late 80's and 90's as being pretty good. We had quite a few AMP places (Hawaii, Grand Kedge, Holt, north of town on 27, etc.) a drive-in out in Okemos that got pretty wild and of course places like the PussyCat. The AMP scene was great with a lot of hot ladies and wide open menus. The escorts were pretty good too, at least far better than now. But the guy's point is sadly right on point. Lansing currently sucks.

Table shower was very nice! Massage was so-so, standard finish, no roaming allowed. Nice lady, but probably will not repeat.
