The last thing you need is for your SO to find the phone. I bury mine deep in the golf bag or in the spare tire section of my shitty usec car. I happily move cars around so my SO never has to drive my well used vehicle versus the "nice" car which she uses and I drive occasionally when we go out. When I first started in the hobby I put it in 3 zip locks and literally buried it in the ground at a local park.

Thanks.[/QUOTE]I get mine from T-Mobile. Just use a fake name and address and you'll need to remember a pin number for when you make service plan payments. Occasionally they run specials for a free phone if you pay 3 months advance service plan but I prefer to buy a phone similar to my personal phone for many reasons.

I just use ca $h and buy the phone. Tracphone works great. Never have to speak to anyone to start and add minutes. Unless you really want to do so. Just follow the prompts.
The $$ spent is an investment in the hobby.

I used burners years ago but it was located by an ex and I had explaining to do as to why I had another phone. The app you can delete and redownload everyday and is not traceable to you anymore than a burner would be, and it's free.

What do you guys use when you go out of the country? Mexico and Canada aren't a problem with what I'm using now. I just have to expand the plan and shell out a few more dollars but what about in a different hemisphere where it's no longer an option with what I have now.
A word on those texting apps. Those numbers are VOIP numbers. Many of the girls will look up information about you when you reach out to them by using your number. They will usually google you to see what theyd be dealing with. To see if there's any bad news, see if you have social media so they can see if you're black (not a racist thing on my part, but they typically don't like dating black guys), etc.
They read a VOIP number as a red flag. Another thing is that some apps used to find people by number, they will allow people to leave notes concerning a number (MrNumber is popular with them). So if they look you up and you are using a texting app, you are much less likely to set up an appointment, just fair warning. So, if you dick around with a girl using your real number or VOIP number, they might leave a nasty note.
Also, if they call you while you are on the way and the app doesn't warn you because you turn off notifications (like I do), then they hear "the textnow subscriber you are calling currently does not have their mailbox set up. " then they get aggravated. I had one girl grill me about why I'm using a texting app, another fire off a series of angry, violent texts, and I wasted a lot of time going to a hotel where the ho won't see me.
I still advocate for using a texting app or a burner (I prefer the texting app), but you aren't getting responses or if they are grilling you or asking for a selfie, that is most likely why. However, at the end of the day, it isn't safe to use your real number and a burner is so much trouble itself. A significant other can find it, you can leave it out accidentally and anyone can find it and go through it, it just looks suspicious. And if you're like me, you might spend months away from the hobby, then hit it hard for a month or two, then fade away for a bit. Then you have this phone you paid for floating around someplace. I'd rather just message 20 girls and see who responds, then deal with them being a headache in one way or another. They're women, they're creative, they will figure out how to be a pain in the ass somehow.
But if you use a textnow number, be mindful that if you are targeting 1-2 girls, you might end up just jerking off.

I can't anymore. Not sure if I need ti upgrade it now or what. Tried to troubleshoot it and can't get it to work anymore. Txt side works ok. I need a new number to use that's why I was looking for other options.

You can have all incoming calls routed to Voice Mail. I use a custom greeting to say "This is a text only number. Feel free to text 24/7. " Calls can use your cell service so WiFi isn't mandatory. Notifications can be silenced. You can buy more numbers and use one App.
I use AVG to add an additional password layer.
I rarely make voice calls but caller I'd is blocked regardless if cell or Wi-Fi is used.
Consider using a VPN.
Anyone having trouble downloading videos? Seen to have changed their format.
Been in the hobby quite a while, started on the boards then BP and CL. Been doing the SW thing for a while but that seems to be drying up and I'm getting tired of my two regulars.
This finds me looking for something on LC / alligator. A handful I'm looking at require verification pics or video chat (I've been with a good number that don't require verification) My senses tell me that this could be a bad idea, am I overthinking? Have you guys had any bead experiences with this?
My thinking is that they could possibly use my image or video in a negative way. But all they would have is my phone number.
Edit: my experience tells me the adds look legit otherwise

If you are with a good number that hasn't required verification for the field you are playing in now, eventually it will be good in the field you are seeking to play in. Over time you will make the connections you desire without taking any chances on your privacy. Patience is key.
