If you look through the post in this sub forum for the last couple of years you'll see that 1) There aren't that many to read, and 2) many of them are bemoaning the fact that the old hot spots are gone.
If you're willing to spend hours hunting you might get lucky in places that have historically been hot spots, but you'd probably be better off in elsewhere. Durham, Fayetteville, Greensboro, High Point and Charlotte seem to have some degree of regular activity.
