I wonder if any law experts would know if the Constitution protects the right for someone to sell sex for money. If sex between consenting adults is not illegal how does adding some payment to the act make it illegal? Is there any other act that is legal only if money does not change hands? It would be like saying you can come and clean my house but if I pay you it's illegal. Seems the US needs to take morals / religion out of lawmaking. Even Canada allows legal escorting. They are able to tax the proceeds and put some rules as far as how one runs a business, they know it's sex for money as opposed to here when people hire escorts for "dates". No court has ever held that the Constitution gives us a right to have sex for money. Therefore, the State can criminalize such behavior.

It's interesting that the Supreme Court of Ontario recently ruled that criminalizing incall prostitution in Ontario, Canada was a violation of a woman's constitutional rights there. But I don't see any similar argument being successful here. Not that I disagree with you, but I think it will take a change in the criminal laws, not a constitutional challenge, to make prostitution legal.

But only 4 of 9 bought the privacy argument; O'Connor relied on equal protection to strike the law down in Lawrence. I frankly doubt that the current court would hold the same way.

In all my years on these boards I have never heard of it turning out well but have read over and over about getting used in a big way. These girls are not innocents, they know what they are doing and usually expert liars. It's how they exist.
