This can vary by region but for for MSP at least, if you get messaged by a new profile w /1 pic that looks more professional than usual (airbrushed, professional lighting), it's 99% a scam. They also usually have a generic name and about me / looking for sections. They'll ask to move to text immediately even though your profiles / interests aren't a good match.
When in doubt, include a message that you will never send $ in advance or pay a deposit. If they insist or even request it, report them. They're usually banned within a day.
For actual potential SBs, I further filter by offering to meet at a place of their choosing (within reason) so they won't have to spend a lot on gas or time driving. Before moving to text, I make sure they agree they won't ask for a deposit or money in advance. If they don't agree, I report / block and move on. If even 5 more guys did this, it would clean the pool up pretty quickly.
Secret Benefits doesn't care and now spams messages from SB accounts. If you complain, they refund your balance and ban you. WYP will investigate but do require more proof. I had to send multiple screens. They don't weigh texts as much as on site comms (understandably) so like noted above, get them to agree to no advance payments in the site chat.
