If we conservatively estimate that 40 man hours of police presence costs $2500, a weekend operation of this type is costing north of $180,000, or about $6000 per arrest; that doesn't include prosecution fees, not to mention the economic impact of essentially removing these individuals from the economy (at median incomes, maybe $2 million per year), losses to foreclosures and seizures which will result, divorce costs, and so on.

But in this case, it's good to get these lowlife fucks out in the open. I can kind of understand someone seeing a hot young chick claiming to be 18 or 20, knowing in the back of their mind that there is a possibility she is only 17 and a few months. But anyone knowingly going after a girl that they (know) is 14 or 15 should be hung from their nuts and used for beginners target practice.

I'm sure there was one or two that just said "what the hell" but I would wager most of those sickos were quite proficient, and probably had some experience with other innocents in the past. (speculation I know, but I'd put 10:1 on it). This behavior should not be tolerated. I think if they are going to spend a million dollars on a sting, this sort of thing is money well spent. It beats the shit out of harassing two consenting adults who have decided to forego the 50.00-200.00 meal, movie etc. And hours of other bullshit. I don't think they really understand that hobbyists aren't paying for sex at all, at least I'm not. I'm paying for them to leave when I'm done with them. Pussy is available for "free" all over the place, but the cost of that shit is way more than a Ben or three.

Yeah they created a crime, and it's debatable if it's ever good to do, because they don't stop with catching pedophiles, the have to go after pot smokers, ***** mongers and other harmless hobbies. I've partaken in a few 18 or 19 year old providers in my time, especially when JFL was still around and they were abundant but it just kept nagging at me that it wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibility that these girls could lie about being of legal age just to make a quick buck. If you're unlucky enough to get busted with one, even if she told you she was legal, the law would very likely come down on you hard for child molestation and as we see now, somehow, human trafficking. You'd go from a misdemeanor pandering charge to hardcore felonies in the blink of an eye and could very well have the rest of your life ruined over it.

Since this epiphany, I stick to women who are clearly at least in their mid twenties, it's just not worth that kind of risk.

How would a solicitation of a minor charge stand up in court when the victim is clearly being baited and switched. Please clue me in? I imagine it's not unusual for mongers to question details of an ad ("are you sure you're 18? So it's easy, given 500 contacts, to say "actually I'm 14": 470 guys cut off the chat at that point, and 30 continue, or however the percentages play out.

That's so unfair, because an arrest alone should mean nothing. People get falsely detained and arrested everyday, and then released with no conviction.

If an employer asked you about an arrest, there will always be room to explain what happened. Make sure you let them know that you are innocent of the offense, hence no conviction.

It should be unlawful to ask about arrest records. Convictions is all that should matter. An arrest doesn't make someone guilty.
