I use the Office motel, massilon rd about a mile and half south of 224.

There's the Lakeview motel on Manchester RD. The Office in Springfield. And two out in Green on 619/Massillon rd. As fas as I know, they are all cash only.

I passed LE cruiser on Talbot off of Arlington. Wasn't even looking for anything, and damned if he didn't pull me over and say that I had made a wide turn. Then he starts asking what I was doing there, where I was coming from, and where was I headed and so on. When he saw I was from the suburbs he started searching me and my car. No big deal, since there was absolutely nothing I could be in trouble for. On a funny note, he found a small socket wrench and thought it was a pipe and started smelling it. I couldn't help but smile when I explained what it was. He then cautioned me about driving in this part of town and that there were better short cuts to Firestone Park, and sent me on my way. Another cruiser and a paddy wagon stopped by during the search so this area is hot! Be safe.

Couple this with the renditions the U.S. now does it kind of reminds me of the actions of a country not too long ago....I think it was about 1939 or so....sad.

I disagree. The police have a job to do. Truth is that area is pretty bad. Think how it would be if there weren't any cops. As long as you are legal, there's nothing to worry about. Next time that LEO sees you he will probably just watch you drive by because he knows your legit.

First post, I use the Lakeview quite a bit you need 25 roses for 4 hours and a drivers license. They copy your name from the license, but I have never had any problems with them. I have been using the place for about a year.

They all had jobs to do including the Nazis. They all used the argument that if you aren't doing anything you have nothing to worry about. The guy who originally posted wasn't doing anything but he was stopped....and his socket wrench was smelled to see whether he had any crack in there (I gotta say that is pretty pathetic on the part of the cop).

Anyway, we all have different opinions on the way things should go. I don't want to get into political discussions so I will just shut up about it now.

I have to disagree with your disagreement. Cops are becoming out of control. Brutality is rampant. They truly believe the ARE the law. Just look at some of the more high profile cases of cop abuse lately that have been publicized because they were caught on tape. Now multiply that behavior by 100,000 for all of the abuses that were NOT filmed and you'll have a ballpark figure of cop activity in the US on a DAILY basis. We are one or two steps away from being a totalitarian police state.

I don't think the police can search your car just because you're from the suburbs! Did you consent to the search (knowing you had nothing to hide)?

Some cops are a bit rough. But I would like to think that most of them are doing their job as professionals. Truth is I try to not deal with them. No or limited cruises. No 2 am trips, etc... But you may be right.

I was just passing through a hot zone when I got pulled over. I would have to recommend the following to anybody on a cruise. Don't cruise if you are intoxicated from anything. Don't cruise if there is anything on you that you could possibly get in trouble for having it with you, and make sure you have a reason for being there and a place you are headed. I was not up to anything, but I would have been in trouble if these things weren't covered. This happenned in the afternoon, so the later you are out, the more suspicious it is to LE if you are driving after midnight. Pretty much common sense, but keep in mind once you are pulled over, they will be trying to stick you with one thing or another.

One last thought on the subject, before we move on *hint*. The type and condition of your car plays a huge part in getting harassed... oops, sorry... publicly served by the cops. Some cars just seem to scream "I'm not from around here".
