I've butted heads with many of you and whether it's publicly or over DMs, we've at least used our real handles.

If anyone doesn't like King's posts, use the mute button. For me, King is a trusted monger and a great reporter of visits. If he posted a review every time he went to a massage parlor, he'd have 5 k posts. It's like, are you complaining that he posts too much or too little?

Hey all, relatively new Sr. Member to the forum but monger for quite a while. Is it just me or is some of the over-hyping of a spot kind of leading it to it's demise. Case in point is VIP and NLBC. So many people posting how those places were best ever, "crushing competition" etc. And now both are gone. Anyone aware of other spa's that have suffered the same fate because of this? I'm just curious because it would suck to have some of the other spots shut down for the same reasons like 7, 108 etc. Any thoughts?

They had the hottest ladies and provided the best experience, especially compared to other spots in the convoy area. All the attention contributed to them closing and relocating as Pine.

Not sure there's a way to avoid this though. Seems like anytime someone posts an overwhelmingly positive review about an AMP or HX / PD / Indie girl, it inevitably leads to a lot of attention. Results in more foot traffic, eyes on a spot, menu changing, GPS etc. Can also rarely lead to other providers stepping their game up to compete. It feels like once the "cat is out of the bag", you just got to enjoy it though. I often question if it's worth leaving a review or report on some ladies, since it's already been said by others, so why restate or confirm it? It's a tough balance to maintain sometimes since some posters definitely have ulterior motives on here and I am not up to speed with some of that drama that may have played a part in VIP / NLBC closing. All good things come to an end, so joy it while you can I say.

In all my travels, I've noticed that Mongers tend to follow each other--That includes the lurkers as well as the avid report writers. I'm not into fist-bumping the last guy coming out (take that as you will) and the next guy arriving. I prefer low-volume.

Following the recommendations of other mongers (reviews) are for entertainment purposes only. Just like some men, I don't want sloppy seconds and enjoy that a provider cleans herself afterwards (or do they?) Finding hidden treasures and a businesses slow times is my current joy with this hobby.

Concerning over-hyped places getting shut down more so than others? I think San Diego's spa history can speak to that. Many spas that are rarely reported or have zero reports have been shutdown for various reasons. The spas mentioned the most get the most attention when something happens because they were so popular, but how many times have we read about a spa being closed that we've never been to? Short memories will have to look at this forum pre-pandemic, but pay attention to future closures from little known spas.

BTW, Rafela was recently closed and now reopened under new ownership. Same name and same services in case anyone is wondering. You may be pleasantly surprised with some of the ladies you'll see there.
