This is just my opinion. I would never ask this of a SP. I have never beat a girl up on price, asked for a discount or pushed for more time. Others have, I am sure. That is fine. I don't haggle over price with my dentist or a restaurant manager, either. If I think a SP is expensive I just go for someone else.
