From my experience, I only text because I've been turned down by providers who believed that I am AA due to my deep voice. Since I text in complete sentences and politely ask for their donations, my race never comes in play. Representation and presentations matters to them as much as it matters to us.
I have been asked what race I am, but very rarely.

And, there are a couple sites where ads are still up. You just have to be smart about your searches. I won't insult you by doing your thinking for you, but I'll just remind you that the Net has a history. You can still find the old contacts on some of the websites like BP that have closed. Some of those contact numbers aren't valid any loner, but others are.
And, of course, the AMPs are still around. The clampdown didn't bother them much, since they didn't much depend on sites like CL and BP for business. What the new (or, rather, revamped) USASG now needs is the sharing of our findings.
Yes, the Internet has a history but one has to wonder if some providers simply moved on. We'll have to see who's still active and who isn't.
Time and money have been in short supply for me recently, but out of curiosity I perused some of the ad boards still available. Many of those ads are dubious at best, even more dubious than the Asian crapshoot ads which dominated Backpage the last couple of years. On one site I also found some ads for providers who had supposedly retired. So this will definitely be an interesting season.
Another beta tester in the Northern Virginia section. Welcome back mongers!
We definitely live in interesting times!

I think some AMPs relied on BP or CL more than others, especially if relatively new and in low-visibility locations.
IMHO, indie masseuses may have taken the biggest hit, especially ones who advertised in therapeutic massage sections. Most new ad sites are geared toward escorts and not so much toward massage. The ones who are probably doing ok are those who had a reputation for great customer service and cultivated a good base of repeat customers (ex. Thai KK, Tara, etc.) while those who relied on a constant churn of new clients are probably not doing as well.
Its been wild since the sites been down. I got a few stories incoming but its good to see things are getting back to normal.
I found that some of my favorite local indies are advertising here:

It's mostly legit, but you should recognize some pretty faces on there.

Wow. That was a bit of a dry spell. So where are all the places advertising now? I was curious how the lack of BP and CL would impact business. I tried searching for a few of the numbers I had but no dice. Any casualties that anyone knows of?

I think now is the time for Monger Reform. Where now we have an opportunity to collectively to stop paying outrageous prices. I know this sounds like a pipe dream and to resist the urge in the moment to fold and pay an upsell won't hold We have to try though. The CL / BP shut down was a blessing in disguise to destroy and rebuild.
Franconia Wellness is one of several KSpas within about a mile of each other (close proximity to the DMV Office in Franconia).
It is kept in good condition by management. The studios are a bit small, but clean. Good TS area.
I was a walk-in last week. Greeted by MMS (cautiously welcoming); collected house fee (. 8/ hr) and told me to undress (towel in plain site for my modesty of course).
Joy, an attractive in that Nova Kgirl manner ("spinner-ish") arrived after about 5 minutes. She was pleasant, and took me to the TS where all was cleaned (nice TS if not great).
Back to studio for massagi. Not bad (not great) - but a nice "Thai / Swedish" combo massage.
First visit (and I was a walkin) -- so, average enjoyable finish. Standard tip + . 1 (perhaps better treatment awaits).

Both mongers and providers are out of their comfort zone and that means pitfalls and opportunities abound.
Some ladies have plenty of regulars, and are in higher demand, allowing them to raise prices. Others have experienced a slowdown and, with bills to pay, they're more willing to negotiate. But even those ladies will try to maintain the appearance of normality and they'll keep their "list" prices the same.
Hard negotiating will almost always get a negative response but, if you can accurately assess which kind of provider you're dealing with, a softer approach might do the trick. For example, if the ad website doesn't list prices, you can politely say that her rates are more that you're able to handle right now and apologize for taking up her time. You can also lay the blame on the absence of BP and the oThER site and she'll probably agree with you on that. At that point, if she's in the mood to deal she will probably make you an offer, which you can decide to accept or respectfully reject. Also, before hanging up I often tell the provider that I'm sure she's worth every penny but then ask her to let me know if she ever offers any kind of special. That gives her one last opportunity to make an offer.
FWIW, some ladies come right out of the gate with a lower price. I saw one (not in VA) who was asking 400 on Eros but offered me 125/250 without my even asking.

Good post and been around long enough to see the pricing adjust accordingly. It did so in the DMV after the tech boom and again after the great recession. Even though I don't play in the NOVA MP anymore (prefer the GB gals and back in the day DC AMP), it is refreshing that capitalism and supply / demand is working.

Amigos,
Wow, talk about bad timing. The forum went down just before moving to the DC area. I had a dream that I was flying blind near the airport. Came across a site (CVX) that had a massage / rub section. Landed on this busty, private, "Thai" provider in Chantilly named Zaza Thai. She told me $. 2 for a dream and I was on my way.
When I arrived at the apt complex she sent me the APT number. When she opened the door I was relieved that it was the girl in the pictures. She led me to a nice massage room and instructed me to get comfortable. When she walked in she immediately draped me. I was concerned and it didn't get any better. She gave a legitimate but decent massage with no teasing whatsoever. At the flip she asked what I wanted and I asked for it all and she rebuffed. I settled on a HE which seemed like all she was willing to offer, no touching allowed and she remained fully dressed. She got the job done but the experience was very mechanical.
The experience was odd. She texted promptly and communicated well but hardly muttered more than a word or two in person. I speak some Thai and she had no idea what I was saying. When I asked her where she from she said Bangkok. I then asked her why she couldn't speak thai she said she left when she was young. So I then asked her where she grew up and she responded, Zurich. The whole thing was very fishy and I probably won't see her again. I def do not recommend her.
I've been to DC often and know a few places in Fairfax and several marvelous dreamlands in PGC but I figured I should TOFTT. Needless to say, I'm glad the forum is back up.
P.S. I've just moved to the area permanently and am looking for a few great friends I could see on an ongoing bases. If you know of any interested in a young, cleancut professional please let me know. I am fairly open to age and ethnicity but do not compromise on beauty and talent. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.
Pleasant Dreams,
Vance.

I think it's strength in numbers though. It's supply and demand on both sides but at the end of the day, they need us more than we need them. I think if you're a regular and you know the value of what you're getting, it's no need to rock the boat but for first encounters, upsell will be less tolerable in this climate. At least for me. With that said. I'm going to take my talents to a new fave in NOVA this week LOL.

Revisited New Blue Sky on Dorsey across from the hospital in the business park, have not been there in a long time, still the same. 5 hour (legit) massage, . 2 tip, . 7 total, enjoyable time overall, will opt out of the back walk next time and go medium instead of hard pressure, neck hurts on one side, let that relax / heal, then I plan to repeat.
I also visited the old blue sky off of Diggs adjacent to the hospital about a week earlier, . 6 hour massage, . 4 tip, $ total, standard NOVA.
Glad to see this site back!

Liveescortreviews is currently scraping their content from cityxguide, but nothing comparable has happened for massage. Some FBSM providers are posting on escort sites and some have moved over to legit sites like massageanywhere. But that leaves an unfilled gap in the market because many sensual bodyrub ladies don't like either of those options. With the BP and CL therapeutic sections, "extra" masseuses could advertise next to legit ones and leave it to knowledgeable clients to figure things out.
If anyone puts up a massage-specific site that doesn't overtly sell the sex angle, they should do pretty good business because that market is currently underserved. And that would give Liverubreviews someplace to draw content from rather than staying frozen on April 6th.

I am very reluctant to give details given the current climate. One thing I can say: if you want a simply therapeutic massage--and there is nothing wrong with that -- you don't need to go to this site, or any site that has focuses on adult services. You can go to Yelp and key in your neighborhood. There are plenty of therapeutic massage places around the DMV, and some of them are very good.
Was a first time walk in client at Soft Touch.
Older studio but well equipped for an enjoyable massage experience. Easy parking in an older medical condo-type complex.
Manager was appropriately cautious (new client, did not call ahead). Massage Technician (Ann or Anna?) - very nice (small, slender (and a bit quiet. Not chatty) .
Nice TS (I would have liked more time, but everything cleaned). Good massage (worked out kinks and knots back and front). Enjoyable in all aspects.
No discussion of tip. Was not shorted on time. Standard house for the hour (4 xJackson) standard tip as well. I will most likely repeat if I am in the area.
