So, you feel that my saying a new poster is fake was out of line, but you don't think his reply was an over reaction? Ok, I'll be the bad guy for thinking it was the start of a fake profile, but maybe some thicker skin is in order on the other guy's part. That first time poster could have used his second one to begin establishing himself and explain what he was talking about. But nooo, internet tough guys have to come back with profanity and attitude rather then just tell us that they are inventing their own acronyms. The "scold him and all that other bs" which you refer to was a response to that second post, not because of his confusing abbreviation. I doubt that you or anyone else would have refrained from snapping back. BTW, out of courtesy I searched his "no stop" phrase before responding. In the hobby context it still leads to CIM, so his grand rebuttal still doesn't make sense.

Not directed at Db1k, but that "senior sh*t" accusation usually gets thrown up by someone who hasn't bothered to RTFF or who walks in the door with a chip on their shoulder. Sure, there are some crotchety and mean seniors, but very often it's an impatient newcomer who stirs up the "senior vs. Regular" pot. By the time they become a senior, they'll probably see what I'm talking about, or maybe they'll just become the next mean senior. Senior membership isn't anything more then a trust building tool to decide who is legit or questionable. As the name implies, you've been around a while to see what goes on. That's why weird first posts get chiding responses. Once other members get an idea of who a new guy is, they will share. This isn't just a Tampa thing, it is found on the forums for other cities around the country. Seriously guys, there is no senior discount card or Christmas party with free girls.

As for banter posts there are many members who share mostly via PM for various reasons. Those banter posts which some don't like are a way to gauge other members personalities to decide if they are trustworthy, sane, etc. It's a vibe that doesn't come through in a simple list of abbreviations and dollar signs. If banter posts bother you, fine, go to the offending member's profile and click "Add to Ignore List." You won't have to deal with their posts anymore.
