Symptoms?
It was bee-jer. So it can happen.
Please share your symptoms. Also, a private message saying who and where would be helpful.
I use STDcheck.com every few months. Usually you can get into a nearby quest diagnostics or labcorp the same day.
1) your primary care physician.
2) your nearest urgent care.
3) your county health department.
4) online providers such as STDcheck.com. Only this option allows the customer to use an alias, if that's what you meant by "discreet". HIPAA laws prevent all medical providers from divulging your personal health information (PHI), so the first three options are discreet also.
The HIPPA thing is true, however if on a family medical insurance plan if she gets the billing info some services show up on that. Agreed. Who? Yikes. I was starting to think that was an urban legend.

Re: EOB

Not specific diagnosis per say but a quick Google search can state what it's probably for.
It's true that your health insurer's Explanation of Benefits will not contain a diagnosis per se; also true there may be information suck and the date of service in the statement that may be used to discern the purpose of the visit to the healthcare provider ("why did you see the doctor last week? Are you sick? And why didn't you tell me?" My suggestion for that is: either always get to the mailbox before your SO, or change your notification preferences to receive EOBs online to your email address only.
But if the OP has regular relations with his SO, he's got bigger problems than her seeing the EOB or billing statement; he has to concoct a reasonable excuse to not show his infected area to her. Not to mention avoiding relations for as long as the infection is active.

No insurance needed. Most medications are even cheaper without Insurance!
SMH (I'm now convinced medical insurances are a big Scam).

Thanks everyone that helped out. It ended up being a UTI. So all is good. I guess sometimes it can present as a std. But definitely makes me rethink the hobby. Not worth that hassle.

Health department
Have you tried your county health department? I went there once years ago with burning wilie syndrome and they could test and even provide the shot on site.
I'm married, and play in this hobby weekly. I went to the health department for the first time a year and a half ago. I was concerned at first but they said they have to keep my results confidential. It was free and I've been there three times since with a clean bill of health each time (knock on Wood). They provide free condoms (a bag of 10). They have never contacted me by mail or phone. To They give you a phone number to call a few days after the test. Just my experience and I hope this helps.

Health Department
Definitely use the health department. It is free, confidential, no call from them. Everything is done with a code they give you.
Also, should you end up with the dreaded STD, they will help you with medications as well as with going through your legal obligations and helping you with that.
