What you were witnessing was an exchange between two Sr members with a track record of providing information and demonstrating who they are NOT. One should be aware of who reads these boards and that anyone, and I mean anyone, can sign up to post here. There is no magical filter to keep undesirables out, so don't be fooled. Also, it makes sense to not show up and look like "one of them!" fwiw.
So when one is asking for info on a specific girl, info that a dude has obtained, at risk or through his knowledge and experience, then he is going to be loath to share it with just anybody. Especially if it is a girl he likes. Best way I have found to lose a good friend is to share her number or info with just anybody. That brings the idiots, creeps and jerks out of the wood work. Shoot I remember way back when, PappaSmurf (rest his soul) posted about a girl. I got lucky and ended up dating her and asked her how the "distribution" of her number on this site had fared for her. She told me that she got 100 inquires and 50% were picture collectors. 25% were guys jacking off to their conversation. 15% made a date and ghosted or begged off at the last minute so only about 10% value in that info be distributed. So lots of headaches and BS to deal with when one shares info with "just anybody!
So stick around and build a bit of cred by posting some reports of your activities. Alternatively read the threads and get an idea of "how to" play the game. THEN ask questions about technique. EVERYONE can learn something about "how to" in this hobby. Those that think it is easy or think they know everything are sure to get taught a few lessons or make costly or dangerous mistakes.

1. Never give any money upfront! PERIOD. I don't care what excuses the person gives, just don't do it. There are ways one can avoid this and still get the date done.
2. Sounds like there was a dude involved too? If there is more than one person in the room and / or especially any signs of a handler, boyfriend, cousin, etc. The date is over! Text them and apologize politely and tell them you were not comfortable with XYZ. The only reason these scams keep going is that dudes keep falling for them. What if the dude was UCLE? That would be a cheaper & easier way to make quota- no room cost, no decoy at risk and much lower manpower required.
3. Why are you concerned that "they didn't trust me" or wanted to verify you? Huh? The only place where one might go through a "verification process" is at one of the TOP level AMPs or Agencies that have a track record. Not some listing on STG. Being concerned like that is blaming the victim, YOU! Suggest adjusting that view point or one is likely vulnerable in the future.
4. Dude tells you he is visiting? That alone is a red flag. Visiting girls have no incentive to provide good service because they are gone in a few days. Locals that want repeats have more incentive to be decent.
Sorry to be so harsh in a reply. I know most do not read the threads any further than their post and the replies to it. It is a shame as there is info here and rules on how to hobby as to avoid situations like these. I have always said, two ways to learn, book learning or "experiential learning" (making mistakes). The former is boring but it is lost costly, safer and less likely to negatively impact one's resume.
